Judy Lowder
I have been in therapy myself and understand how hard it can be to make the first appointment. My approach is person centered and individually tailored for the client. Together we will collaborate and develop a strong therpeutic alliance to achieve your goals in therapy. Clients say they feel comfortable sharing their deepest emotional hurts, thoughts and concerns with me.
First session
During our first session I will actively listen to ensure I fully understand you and your situation. We will talk about what you want to talk about. It is all about you.
Strengths
I use a person centered approach to offer empathy and unconditional positive regard. Clients tell me they feel hopeful and at ease in our sessions. Having at one time struggled with anxiety, depression and substance use, I understand the pain and what it takes to effect change. This is all about you. We will talk about what you want to talk about and the areas of your life that you want to share. Our sessions will provide a safe, accepting, non-judgmental setting. Therapy is collaborative and together we will work to set and achieve your goals for where you want to be in two weeks, next month, in six months. I have a couneslor's heart and enjoy affirming and working with clients as they improve their lives.
Ideal clients
Adults, adolescents and children twelve and over who are experiencing addiction, anxiety and/or depression are my ideal clients. We need to get to the root causes and then move forward. I especially enjoy clients who are navigating a life transition such as graduation, engagement, divorce or retirement. I have extensive experience with school issues (elementary grades, middle school, high school, undergraduate and graduate level students) and career counseling.
