Ana Guerrero
Hi, I’m Ana Guerrero, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Warrior Within Counseling Services. I believe therapy should be a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you can be fully seen and heard. With more than 20 years of experience in healthcare and social work, I support individuals navigating anxiety, stress, grief and loss, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My approach is person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-responsive, and culturally responsive. Together, we can explore what you’re experiencing, reconnect with your strengths, and create meaningful steps toward greater wellness, resilience, and hope.
First session
Your first session is a space to feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what support feels right for you. My approach is collaborative and person-centered, adapting to each individual, couple, or family. You’ll leave with greater clarity, a sense of connection, and a path forward.
Strengths
I bring empathy, authenticity, and clinical experience to create a safe, compassionate space where you feel heard, valued, understood, and supported.
Ideal clients
I work best with individuals navigating life transitions, anxieties, stress, grief, relationship challenges, or feeling stuck. My ideal client is open to self-reflection and ready for meaningful change. My ideal client is willing to be introspective. They value a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where they can explore their experiences, gain clarity, build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop practical tools to move forward with greater intention.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns that may be contributing to stress or emotional difficulties and explore more helpful ways of thinking and responding. Sessions are collaborative and practical, giving clients tools they can use between sessions to build confidence, manage challenges, and create meaningful change.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients navigate difficult thoughts and emotions without allowing them to control their lives. Together, we explore what matters most to the client, identify personal values, and develop practical ways to move forward even when challenges arise. The goal is to build greater flexibility, self-awareness, and confidence while creating a life that feels meaningful and aligned with their values.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients better understand and manage intense emotions, cope with stress, and improve relationships. Together, we build practical skills for staying grounded during difficult moments, communicating more effectively, and responding to challenges with greater awareness rather than reacting impulsively. The goal is to help clients feel more in control, strengthen their relationships, and navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify what they want to change and focus on practical steps toward their goals. Together, we explore their strengths, existing resources, and times when they have successfully managed challenges. Rather than focusing only on what is wrong, we build on what is already working to create meaningful, achievable change and help clients move forward with greater confidence.
