Personally and professionally, I believe in the importance of genuine connection and authenticity. I am open to whatever methods will work best for each individual and believe that treating each individual with care and respect is essential for good work. I have been working as a therapist in various areas for close to 15 years now and have experience with everything from young children to the very elderly. I cannot stress enough how important it is to me that every person is treated as the individual that they are and that getting to know the whole person is essential to me for the best therapy outcome.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I believe the first session(or more if needed!) should be about getting to know each other. Opening up to a random stranger can feel incredibly intimidating, so I am happy to take the process as slowly as you need to go. Research shows that the relationship between the individual in therapy and the therapist is one of the greatest helping factors in finding success.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe that as a provider, our job is to hold a mirror up and help each person see themselves more clearly; most of the time, this is helping people see how wonderful they really are and moving past damage that has been done by others either intentionally or unintentionally. The greatest characteristics needed for this are the ability to connect, be humble, and empathize; all of which I strive to excel at daily. Additionally, my personal experience as a human with neurodiversity is something I regard as a strength, it allows me to provide neuroaffirming care as well as see things from a different perspective easily which many of my clients express appreciation for.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work well with clients navigating life transitions, including those navigating career stuck points, relationship hurdles, and spiritual struggles. I have experienced significant success with individuals who are neurodivergent or who are trying to navigate life with someone who is neurodivergent. Members of the LGBTQ+ community are near and dear to my heart. The most important thing is that clients are willing to work towards a growth mindset and value authenticity.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

The person-centered approach is the primary way I look at every case. I believe it is essential to start from here and move out to more specific methods or techniques that work for each individual. Every person is unique and has a background which informs who they are to this point and only with acceptance and understanding of that can a therapeutic relationship offer the most help.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The Cognitive method is helpful for many individuals who are stuck in negative feedback and anxiety loops. It can be extremely beneficial for individuals struggling with thoughts created by programming from previous years.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I am a huge advocate for the benefits of mindfulness in many aspects of life and find it to be helpful for many in the therapeutic process. Sometimes it seems to simple of a process to be so helpful; however, sometimes the simplest things do provide the most benefit because they are easy to get started when you are having a hard time.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

This method is typically used for PTSD; there are other methods that I use for treating trauma; however, CPT is well established as being a standard of care.

I wish I could select more good things about Navauda's style. I have never had a therapist whom I connected to more in how open-minded, knowledgeable, flexible, and helpful she has been for me since I started working with her. she truly molds your care to what will work best for you and works to truly understand you and what can help you grow and understand yourself. I really appreciate having her as my therapist.
