Hi, I’m a Indo-Caribbean-American therapist who understands how hard it is to talk about emotions when you’ve been raised to suppress them. Growing up, I was told that feelings weren’t valid—and that mental health struggles were a sign of weakness. Now, I help people unlearn those harmful messages and create space for healing.

In my practice, I challenge the stigma around therapy in Caribbean and immigrant communities and offer a space where you don’t have to explain your culture—you can just be.

In my practice, I challenge the stigma around therapy in Caribbean and immigrant communities and offer a space where you don’t have to explain your culture—you can just be. Let’s gaff about what’s going on and explore whether we’re a good fit.

First session

We'll take time to get to know each other. You'll share what brings you to this space, and we'll go at your pace. I'll ask questions to understand you better, and we'll talk about what therapy will look like for you. The goal is to create a space where you feel not judged but safe and seen.

Strengths

My greatest strength as a provider is my ability to hold space for both visible and invisible grief. I work well with clients navigating the death of a loved one, but also the secondary losses that often go unspoken—like the loss of identity, safety, connection, or a future you once imagined. I’m not afraid of hard, honest conversations, and I won’t sugarcoat things—especially when I notice patterns that are keeping you stuck. I lead with compassion and curiosity as we explore what healing could look like for you. Clients often share that they appreciate my ability to say the hard things in a way that still feels supportive. I understand what it means to navigate silence, shame, and high expectations. Most importantly, I know how to hold space for the complexity of your experience.

Ideal clients

I can best serve first and second-generation individuals, especially those navigating pressure to succeed while carrying unspoken emotional burdens. My clients often struggle with anxiety, people-pleasing, depression, or feeling "not enough." Together, we learn how to set boundaries, unpack generational trauma, and embrace emotions we were taught to ignore. I meet you where you are - no judgement, just space for you.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is tremendous for restructuring unhelpful beliefs, addressing anxiety/depression, behavior change, and psychoeducational issues. I will teach clients how thoughts impact feelings and behaviors. Clients dealing with low motivation, including those feeling stuck between cultural/family expectations and their desires, I would use behavioral activation to support them.

EMDR

EMDR is great for targeting trauma, attachment wounds, deeply rooted emotional distress, body memories and generational trauma. EMDR can help target past events that contribute to current distress.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

For this type of therapy, I like to integrate culturally responsive interventions by using relevant metaphors to a person's culture. We'll explore different topics that impact you and your culture. I am to center client's lived experiences without pathologizing them.
