Daphne Jones
Hi, I'm Daphne — a Licensed Professional Counselor and State-Approved Clinical Supervisor. For over a decade, I've walked alongside adults learning to be gentler with themselves, steadier in their emotions, and more confident in their lives. I work best with people navigating anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, and mood-related struggles. If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or just curious about who you're becoming, therapy can be a soft place to land — a space to understand yourself, build real tools, and create change that lasts.
Healing isn't about fixing. It's about finding your way back, back to the parts of yourself you set aside to survive, back to the peace you thought you lost, back to the person you've been becoming all along.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and shaped around you. I blend DBT, CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and psychoeducation — because understanding *how* your mind and emotions work is a powerful part of healing. I also make room for the spiritual and faith dimensions of your story, because healing isn't only in the mind. I bring an uplifting, grounded energy, and I love using imagery to help you see yourself and your life in new, hopeful ways. I work best with clients who are curious, open, and ready to show up for their own growth. Together, we'll build on the strengths you already carry and move toward the life you're building. Clients often leave with steadier emotions, deeper self-understanding, healthier relationships, and renewed confidence. It's my joy to hold your story gently while helping you grow. A note: Requests for letters, evaluations, or documentation outside of standard therapy services require additional fees and aren't billable to insurance. ESA letters are available after intake and two additional therapy sessions.
First session
During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another, talking about what brings you to therapy, and identifying the goals that matter most to you. You'll have space to share at your own pace while I ask thoughtful questions to understand your strengths, your challenges, and the areas of your life you'd like to grow. My approach is collaborative, practical, and tailored to you. Together, we'll create a plan focused on meaningful progress, building insight, strengthening coping skills, and developing strategies you can actually use in your everyday life. I welcome your feedback along the way so therapy always stays aligned with your goals. Clients often appreciate that our sessions balance supportive conversation with practical tools and reflection. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, gently challenged, and empowered to make lasting changes that support your emotional well being and overall quality of life.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to listen deeply, really hear you and to notice the patterns that help you understand yourself in new ways all I ask it that you meet me there. I aim to create a warm, welcoming space where you feel seen, respected, and safe to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Together, we'll uncover the strengths you already carry and find practical, gentle ways to build on them as you move toward your goals. As a creative and naturally expressive therapist, I love weaving in imagery, metaphors, visualization, and hands-on, experiential techniques to make complex feelings easier to understand and navigate. There's no one-size-fits-all here. I tailor therapy to your unique needs, blending evidence-based practices with approaches that truly resonate with how you learn, heal, and grow.
Ideal clients
I work best with adults who are curious about themselves, the kind of people who ask big questions, feel deeply, and want to understand not just what they do, but why. Many of my clients are thoughtful, emotionally aware folks who carry a lot, they're navigating anxiety, stress, depression, ADHD, relationship concerns, life transitions, or mood-related challenges while juggling work, family, and the many hats life asks them to wear. I'm drawn to clients who are open, introspective, willing to learn, and ready to take an active part in their own healing, people who show up not just for answers, but for the journey.
Treatment methods
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
In our sessions, we’ll explore the different “parts” of you, each with its own thoughts, feelings, and roles. You might notice parts that try to protect you, parts that carry pain, and parts that feel stuck. I’ll help you get to know these parts with curiosity and compassion, not judgment. Together, we’ll work toward helping these parts feel heard and supported, so you can feel more balanced and connected to your true self, the calm, wise core that’s always within you.
Strength-Based
I believe you already have many strengths, even if they’re hard to see right now. Together, we’ll explore the skills, values, and resources you’ve used to get through tough times. We’ll build on what’s working and use that as a foundation for moving forward. You are more capable than you may realize, and I’m here to help you tap into that power.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
In our work together, we’ll focus on helping you build skills to manage intense emotions, navigate relationships, and stay grounded during tough moments. I’ll support you in learning practical tools like mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and communication skills. At the same time, we’ll hold space for both acceptance and change. You can honor where you are while also working toward where you want to be. We’re in this together, and I’ll guide you every step of the way.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
In our sessions, I’ll help you learn how to slow down and notice what’s happening in the present moment without judgment. Together, we’ll practice simple techniques like breathing, body awareness, and gentle observation of thoughts and emotions. You don’t have to change everything right away; we’ll focus on building awareness so you can respond to stress and challenges with more clarity and calm. This approach can help you feel more grounded, even when things around you feel overwhelming.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In our work together, we’ll look at how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Sometimes the way we think about things can make challenges feel even heavier. I’ll help you notice unhelpful thought patterns and learn how to shift them in ways that support your goals. Together, we’ll practice strategies you can use in daily life to reduce stress, improve your mood, and feel more in control. You don’t have to do it alone, we’ll take it one step at a time.
