First session

I want to make sure that I support you in your journey and individualize your treatment according to your needs. I believe that our minds are powerful and that our minds can be both challenging and amazing at different times or sometimes, at the same times. With me, you will always feel supported, I am open to any situation, and I am a non-judgmental person who wants to make sure that you will always feel supported. If you think of all of the things we live through, and the challenges you are dealing with at this time shows how resilient you are. The beauty of mental health is that although it can tear us down, there are also many ways to build it up and the process of change can be truly rewarding. No matter how severe your challenge, know that there is a lot of support out there for you and I am here for the journey with you.

We came out of this feeling worse than when we went in. We felt half-listened to, and that assumptions were made about our relationship. We were told we’d be given work to do in the next appointment since she didn’t have time to give it to us during this appointment. There were some positive points of the session, but we felt largely like we were worse off than before, and there was an increased tension between us that wasn’t the result of us facing hard truths or doing hard work.

She was very understanding when I would go off topic and still invested active listening in everything I said and provided great feedback! Made me feel very comfortable talking with her and I think I may have found a therapist that I am fully comfortable opening up, talking with and being myself with. This gives me so much relief as I feel this will make all the difference in my healing and moving forward in life.
