Hi! I'm Veronica, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) with over 12 years of experience providing therapy. Many of us yearn for a sense of peace, connection, and well-being in our lives. However, life circumstances and internal struggles can often hinder our ability to experience these deeply fulfilling states. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your challenges and emotional pain. My goal is to support your growth and healing journey, empowering you to cultivate greater self-awareness, develop effective coping mechanisms, and live a more fulfilling life.

A Direct Approach to Navigating Life's Challenges I want to be upfront: my approach to therapy isn't for everyone, and that's okay.

Outside of my practice, I enjoy spending time with my family (two teenagers and three dogs), practicing Pilates, and cheering on the Celtics. I am licensed in Maryland, DC, Virginia, Minnesota and Ohio.

First session

Clients can expect to gain a deeper understanding of themselves, develop effective coping mechanisms for stress and challenges, and work towards achieving their personal and professional goals. In our sessions, we will: Collaboratively explore your unique experiences and challenges. Identify and strengthen your inner resources and resilience. Develop personalized strategies for managing stress and improving well-being. Cultivate self-compassion and foster a greater sense of self-acceptance. Work towards achieving your goals and living a more fulfilling life."

Strengths

A Direct Approach to Navigating Life's Challenges I want to be upfront: my approach to therapy isn't for everyone, and that's okay. If you're looking for real, direct conversations and practical guidance to tackle life's challenges, then we might be a great fit. I combine real-world solutions with evidence-based theories and practices to help you achieve tangible growth. Our work will focus on: Skill-building: Equipping you with practical tools you can use every day. Emotional awareness: Helping you understand and navigate your feelings more effectively. Accountability: Empowering you to take ownership of your personal growth journey. My goal is to help you move forward with clarity and confidence. If you're ready to engage in a collaborative process that emphasizes direct communication and actionable steps, I'm here to support you.

Ideal clients

I am most passionate about working with 'cycle-breakers'—individuals who are doing the hard work of unlearning generational patterns and establishing healthy boundaries. My ideal client is often the person who takes care of everyone else and is finally ready to prioritize their own mental well-being. I excel at helping people navigate relationship challenges, identity shifts, and the process of finding their own voice. If you are looking to understand your roots while growing toward a healthier future, we will be a great fit.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques because I believe in helping clients develop practical, effective coping mechanisms. CBT focuses on identifying and modifying negative thought patterns and behaviors, leading to quicker symptom relief and long-term positive changes.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I believe in the inherent strengths and resilience of my clients. My approach is solution-focused, emphasizing identifying and amplifying existing coping mechanisms and resources. Together, we'll explore what's working well in your life and build upon those successes to achieve your goals.

Veronica does a great job of pushing me to think about things I haven't. On the flip side, she has also made me feel confident about the fact that I have thought through things well. I appreciate when she asks me a question or has me think on something, that I have already thought about. It makes me feel like I'm on the right track.
