Trish Mendoza
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing teletherapy to teens, adults, and couples. I collaborate with patients to find solutions to the challenges that disrupt their lives.
I bring nearly 30 years of professional social work practice and all of my life experience to my therapy.
Overcoming a crisis in your relationship, working your way through loss as you grieve a loved one or life change, managing feelings or moods that overwhelm you and keep you from healthy functioning......these are just a few of the reasons that people begin therapy. Whatever might be challenging you and keeping you from living your best life, we can find solutions together, in therapy. Let's get started!
First session
Come to your first session relaxed and prepared to tell me about yourself. I'll ask you lots of questions about your relationships, work or school, health conditions, and more. We may spend our first therapy session just getting to know each other and finding a good conversational rhythm. Trust and vibe is important for having a successful relationship with any therapist. I build rapport with my patients quickly because I'm a great listener!
Strengths
My pledge to patients is that you will have my full attention while we are together in session. You won't just know I'm actively listening, you'll feel heard. I bring nearly 30 years of professional social work practice and all of my life experience to my therapy. I leave no stone unturned when it comes to searching for solutions to the things that are challenging you. I stay current on the latest research about trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship conflict, and other common issues that bring people to therapy. I tell my patients I am a shepherd. I am committed to walking beside you on your therapy journey. I will lean in and nudge you when you need an insight or a challenge, but we are on the journey together. Your voice is the one that will guide us and I want to hear what you have to say!
Ideal clients
I enjoy collaborating with individuals who are motivated to make change so they can be better managers of their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Teens who need to learn the importance of self esteem and self confidence for building healthy relationships are an area of expertise for me. I also enjoy doing boundary work with women who are navigating relationships. I have alot of success working with men who are learning to reduce stress, manage anxiety, overcome depression, and create a healthier work-life balance. NOT ACCEPTING COUPLES AT THIS TIME, EFF JUNE 2025. WILL RESUME AT A LATER DATE.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Our thoughts are powerful! When we fall into a habit of anxious or negative thinking, it can trigger similarly anxious or distressing feelings. Using CBT therapy, I partner with patients to overcome faulty thought patterns and reset the mind to create greater harmony and a feeling of balance.
