Hey there! My name is Alyson Morgan, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and clinical supervisor. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families in need. For three years, I devoted myself to being a full-time therapist in private practice. During this time, I developed a particular interest in working with children and adolescents in the foster care system, as well as those affected by trauma. In 2020, I left my therapeutic practice and joined a local university as a full-time instructor in the social work program; driven by my commitment to professional growth, I graduated with my DSW (Doctorate in Social Work) in January 2023, with an emphasis on teaching, leadership, and clinical practice. Through educating future social work students, I realized my passion is helping others achieve their highest potential through the art of therapy and fostering therapeutic relationships.

I have experience working with youth, adults, veterans and families. The settings in which I’ve practiced include intense inpatient, clinic, substance use disorder treatment, mental health rehabilitation, correctional rehabilitation facility and school settings. I'm newly EMDR TRAINED. I collaboratively assist clients with improving their self-esteem and self-worth, processing trauma, managing depression and anxiety, challenging negative thought processes, emotion dysregulation, and processing symptoms of grief and mood disorders. This is a collaborative therapeutic process that allows fostering healthy intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships, resolving symptoms of grief and trauma, modifying negative internal narratives, managing anxiety and depression, decreasing emotion dysregulation and dissociating, and fostering one's sense of self. I've worked with adults, families and adolescents who experienced anxiety, depression, family transitions, trauma wounds, anxiety, low self-esteem, PTSD, LGTBQIA transitions, substance use, bipolar mood disorders, personality disorders and several other life challenges etc. I have been so honored to be present throughout my client's journeys of growth, if only to help unburden them from internal suffering. I strive to be both non-judgmental, and collaborative, while challenging those that fear based responses to the environment.

My name is Ann Kimbrough Johnson (otherwise known as Kim) and I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 24 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, families and individuals of diverse backgrounds. My treatment approach utilizes my diverse skill set and is based on a thorough assessment of my client’s goals and related needs. This individualized approach enables me to understand and meet my clients where they are and get them to where they need/want to be. I graduated with my Masters’ Degree in Social Work at the University of Houston, Texas. Since that time, I have devoted myself to the field of mental health by empowering clients to develop the inner strength and related skills they need to endure and overcome life’s many challenges. Life frequently can seem unfair and confusing. I understand that this can leave you feeling lost, overwhelmed, and wondering why. I recognize that despite the different experiences we encounter on our journey, the goals are virtually the same. We are all looking for our own kind of understanding, inner-peace, self-love, happiness and healing. I know how to get you there and would be honored to help. Finally, my shout out to you about considering and possibly embarking on this journey. Seeking mental health care makes you stronger. When you allow yourself to be open and share yourself with all your strengths and vulnerabilities you can find the part of you that you thought you lost or would never have. Anything is possible. Congratulations for getting this far! The decision about what path to take is yours but, always, remember to thine own self be true.

With a busy life, additional emotional support, a sense of direction, or help understanding current circumstances may make navigating life's challenges a little easier. My expertise includes anxiety, depression, domestic violence, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, adjustment, and stress management. I have specializations in neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology (e.g., stroke, health problems), so I also work with individuals who have issues such as ADHD, Asperger's syndrome/autism, the effects of stroke or adjusting to a medical disorder. You can expect a collaborative, practical approach to therapy with achievable goals. I look forward to working with you!

I am a second career social worker, who graduated with my MSW in 2014 and my Ph.D. in 2019, both from the University of Houston’s Graduate College of Social Work. I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, but have lived in the Houston area for 30+ years. I decided to become a social worker because of my personal experiences raising a child with behavioral health issues and experiencing profound loss following the sudden death of my husband. My goals were to help others the way my own family had been helped, but I also hoped to improve the experiences of others with similar lived experiences but less positive outcomes. I have worked in a variety of settings, including West Oaks Hospital (a specialty psychiatric hospital) and its affiliated outpatient settings, where I provided individual, group, and family therapy to adults and adolescents experiencing significant mental health crises. I have also worked in home hospice care, assisting individuals and families with both pre-bereavement and post-bereavement support, and where I facilitated online support groups for caregivers and for individuals experiencing grief and bereavement. In addition to my private practice, I am an adjunct professor at the University of Houston’s Graduate College of Social Work, and I frequently consult with immigration lawyers about the ways in which mental health issues may impact the path to asylum or citizenship. Although I do not consider myself to be a trauma specialist, I do practice with a trauma-informed style and am always conscious of the ways in which trauma impacts the lives and experiences of individuals in all walks of life. I have experience working with people who live with ADHD, anxiety, autism, depression, and mood disorders generally. My goal is always to support my clients in achieving their own goals for a happier and healthier life.
