Hi, I am Jackie If you are taking the time to read my profile that means that you have made the decision to get some support for yourself or someone you love. Pat yourself on the back, taking the first step is the most difficult and you have just done that. I have been a social worker for over 20 years in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. I earned my BSW in 2001 from LaSalle University and my MSW in 2004 from Temple University. I obtained my LSW license in 2007 and my LCSW license in 2010. I have worked in the home, community, school, and in-patient hospital settings. I enjoy working with diverse groups of clients from all different backgrounds. I have experience working with clients ages 5-75 with all different life stressors and diagnosis. I enjoy working with challenging children, families, and individuals that other professionals have struggled to connect with. I believe that a person's diagnosis or stressor is a small part of who they are and that it does not define them as a person. I am of the belief that change is possible for all of us. I was inspired to became a social worker because of my own dysfunctional family and upbringing. I am a childhood sexual abuse survivor, a rape survivor, and a domestic violence survivor. I was motivated to start my own private practice after 20 years of working within a broken mental health system that focuses more on the needs of managed care companies then the needs of their clients. I am a full time working mother to 3 beautiful children and a husband who challenge my sanity on a daily basis. One of my children is neurodiverse and has had an IEP since the age of 5. I was born in Queens, New York and raised on Long Island. I moved to Pennsylvania to attend college in 1997 and never left. I am a animal lover and owner of 2 rescue dogs. I enjoy the results of going to the gym but not the gym itself. My happy place is anywhere that has water. I have 23 tattoos, 22 of which my mother hates. I volunteer with my oldest child to teach softball and baseball to special needs and neurodiverse children ages 5-21 every Spring. I enjoy reading, taking walks, and going to the beach though as a working mother I don't have much free time to enjoy any of that. I pride myself on providing individual and strengths based clinical support to my clients. I use humor, honesty, and radical acceptance in the work I do with my clients. I use a blend of therapeutic styles based on the individual needs of my client. I do use self -disclosure about my own trauma if I feel that it is beneficial to my client and the work we are doing together. Establishing and building rapport is paramount to any working relationship. I am easy to establish rapport with and am very outgoing. I am passionate about the work that I do and that shows through during sessions with my clients. I believe that every person deserves to be accepted, celebrated, and loved for who they are. I believe that my purpose as a social worker is to partner and support my clients in becoming the best versions of themselves. I look forward to connecting with you soon.

Hi! People of all walks of life often go through tough times ... and I am here to help. I have worked, since 1991, with individuals and families across outpatient and inpatient settings, in homes and schools, and now through telehealth. I have assisted people with a variety of challenges--whether related to depression, anxiety, stress and trauma, behavioral control, self-esteem, substance use, life transition, family and marital concerns, and other issues. I believe in "possibilities thinking", goal setting, active strategizing, and frequent accounting of progress. As a long-term counselor and college psychology professor, I am well acquainted with many therapeutic approaches; however, I am somewhat partial to cognitive-behavioral therapy, relaxation and mindfulness, and solution-focused treatment. I am also formally EMDR-trained and do provide virtual EMDR. There are many therapy options--whomever you select, I wish you the best. Remember--it’s your life, your journey … make the most of it! Sincerely, Rick NOTE: At the current time, my availability will typically be from 5:00 - 9:00 pm during most weekdays (M-T-W-TH) and 8 am - 2:00 on most weekends. Daytime availability will be relatively reduced, though I expect to also have steady availability on Monday mornings and afternoons (as well as Monday evenings). NOTE: At this time, I am accepting only adults (age 18 and up) of any age. NOTE: I am offering only 1:1 (no family or couples) therapy. NOTE: I do not engage in any court-ordered treatment. NOTE: I am interested in conducting therapy, not doing work-mandated, IEP, or other one-time (e.g., Drug & Alcohol or Mental Competency) evaluations. NOTE: Though an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor, I am not a Licensed Psychologist or a Psychiatrist. As such, I cannot conduct psychological testing or prescribe medications.

You are a woman who has been devastated by grief over pregnancy loss, infertility, or postpartum depression and anxiety. You desperately want to find someone to talk to about how alone and sad you feel. You feel heartbroken, ashamed, and angry lately. Your world has stopped while everyone else seems to be living their best life. You find yourself having the same fights with your partner over and over again. Society glamorizes pregnancy and motherhood which can make you feel even more alone and misunderstood. If you see one more pregnancy announcement or social media post about the happiness of motherhood, you might lose it! Your baby is important to you no matter how much time you have spent with them. You want to learn how to keep your baby’s memory alive. You want to learn how to experience happiness during this new transition to motherhood. You want to feel heard by someone without shame or judgment. You are not alone. As a woman, I have been there.

Hi! I'm an LCSW in Pennsylvania, originally born and raised in NYC. I am passionate about supporting others and providing a judgement free environment. I have experience working within an HIV clinic for the past 3.5 years. Prior to that, I worked in a family practice primary care site supporting families and individuals with their needs. My focus is primarily rooted in relationship issues, trauma & abuse, and generalized anxiety disorder. I utilize CBT and DBT with my clients to help promote a sense of independence and acceptance. A little bit about my style of therapy, I aim to make this experience feel as natural and open as possible. I find that people come into therapy with an expectation of being told how to deal with their concerns - when in fact, I want to walk along side you in this journey. We are learning about you together and finding what works best for you. I hope to be that support and tool in your life during this transitional period. I look forward to working with you!

Therapy is a journey, whether you are familiar to the process or just beginning, I am so glad you are here. I'm a licensed counselor with a diverse background, I enjoyed working with those who were incarcerated make better choices for their future on the outside, working with those in active addiction trying to do something to make recovery possible, and working in a busy outpatient mental health clinic. With each experience, I learned how to work with various populations and enhance my skills. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the "light blub" moment occur with a client or helping a client heal when they are struggling.

Hi, my name is Katie Thomson, I'm an LCSW in both California and Pennsylvania. I have been a social worker for the past ten years, and became a licensed clinical social worker in 2021. Throughout my time as a social worker I worked multiple jobs including an ICU medical social worker, HUD-VASH care manager, and HIV outreach specialist, among other jobs that have helped me become the therapist I am today. I intend to create a safe and warm space for clients to work on whatever they choose to bring into their sessions. My communication style starts with building rapport with each client by being a listener, as well as empathic, nonjudgmental, and compassionate. Having a good therapeutic relationship is important to ensure that the client can open up and feel safe in processing whatever it is they are going through and bringing with them to each session. I have a history of working with adults with a focus on depression, anxiety/panic attacks, work/life stress, and adoption as well as life transitions (divorce, entering the workforce, etc.)

Greetings, my name is John Luke. I am a licensed clinical social worker and specialize in helping people to effectively manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns using cognitive behavioral techniques. I have worked with a range of populations, nearly all ages, and also have experience with addiction treatment and life-coaching. I work with people to develop insight into the source of their problems, how their core beliefs about the world might be hindering their progress, and focus on their natural strengths to overcome those barriers with practical skills that generate sustainable change. Some of my other specialties include short-term, solution-focused therapy; cognitive behavioral therapy techniques; psychodynamic approaches; and marital counseling. Some of the problems I am particularly keen on solving with my clients include issues with self-image and confidence; dating and relationships; boundary-setting and assertive communication; as well as general anxiety management; and learning to identify and productively resolve emotional unrest. I am also very experienced in cognitive restructuring, which is just a fancy way of saying helping to change the way a person thinks about the world and their place in it. I also enjoy aiding people in goal setting and identification, meaning-making, and navigating family conflicts. If you feel any of this could be helpful or useful to you, please do not hesitate to reach out! (Note: I do work with couples, but only on a cash-pay basis. Also, I only work with ages 18+)

Dr. Susan Shipley practices clinical psychology and works with clients, both adults and children. You have found a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome those things holding you back. Let's work together! My clients often have challenges such as anxiety, depression, and grief. I've had experiences working with young adults with anorexia, and people with phobias, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive thoughts and other intrusive thoughts, and folks who may have a dependent personality. I'm a school psychologist familiar with children with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, developmental delays, and parents. Occasionally life challenges meet us at a particularly vulnerable time, and I work with people who have adjustment to such life changes, people who find they are severely co-dependent on others with addiction dependency, the alcoholic and drug dependent person. In addition, I've assisted those experiencing grief, including job loss. I'm an artist myself and a trained art therapist. I found, art making often speaks with more feeling and force than words alone. We will incorporate art if you choose. CBT works in a collaborative manner between the therapist and the client. Together, we can identify what's not working and get you back to balance. We'll use a whole self-approach, addressing your needs. I also integrate mindfulness, yoga, and art to help you develop a stronger relationship with others and most importantly yourself. You have found a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together!
