I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed in North Carolina, Ohio, and Alabama. I graduated from the Joint Master's Program at the University of NC at Greensboro and North Carolina A&T State University. I am biracial/bicultural: White/Native American( Enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina). I've been working in mental health in various community roles for 15 years and I also volunteer with my local Native American Organization. I have experience in helping adults with anxiety, depression, family conflict, stress, motivation, and self-esteem. Based on my background, I also have a special focus on individuals who are Indigenous or identifying as bicultural/biracial as well as working with individuals who are dealing with grief, loss, caregiver stress, and bariatric surgery. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Those who identify as bicultural, Black, Native American, African American, BIPOC, QTBIPOC, LGBTQIA+, ability diverse, and all who have been historically marginalized and minoritized are supported.

It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help when you’re feeling overwhelmed and stuck due to mental health and substance use issues. You don’t have to fight these issues on your own. I specialize in helping adults of any age with issues of anxiety, depression, trauma and alcohol/drug use, including when issues of mental health and substance use occur at the same time. I understand there are many different paths in how a person can overcome and manage their struggles in mental health and substance use. My therapeutic approach to help each client find their best path by providing sessions that are client centered, strengths based, non-judgmental, empathetic and accepting of everyone. Together we’ll generate healthy and empowering ways to problem solve, improve communication, manage strong emotions, build/repair relationships and other support systems, and find ways to maintain recovery. I also have 10 years of experience in working with clients who are justice involved via court, parole and probation systems.

You are a woman who has been devastated by grief over pregnancy loss, infertility, or postpartum depression and anxiety. You desperately want to find someone to talk to about how alone and sad you feel. You feel heartbroken, ashamed, and angry lately. Your world has stopped while everyone else seems to be living their best life. You find yourself having the same fights with your partner over and over again. Society glamorizes pregnancy and motherhood which can make you feel even more alone and misunderstood. If you see one more pregnancy announcement or social media post about the happiness of motherhood, you might lose it! Your baby is important to you no matter how much time you have spent with them. You want to learn how to keep your baby’s memory alive. You want to learn how to experience happiness during this new transition to motherhood. You want to feel heard by someone without shame or judgment. You are not alone. As a woman, I have been there.
