My name is Marisa. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Rutgers University and a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health from Rutgers School of Biomedical Science. I provided individual counseling and case management to individuals diagnosed with mental health and substance abuse barriers. As a graduate student, I have launched community-wide outreach events to educate members of the community about Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. This work strengthened my commitment to become an advocate for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking. I am deeply committed to my work and this is demonstrated in my ability to connect with my clients. My goal as a clinician is to empower individuals and families while remaining receptive to feedback throughout the therapeutic process. I use a wide collective range of clinical modalities and interventions such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which assists in combating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Passionate that therapy must meet the individual’s needs, I believe that therapy and progress are not linear, and must be tailored to the individual. I have a deep passion, advanced education, and extensive field experience that have provided me with a dynamic set of interpersonal skills that cement my effectiveness as a competent clinician.

My name is Meghan Gilbert and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Pennsylvania. I graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Social Work. I graduated from Widener University in 2017 with a master's degree in Social Work through their Advanced Standing Clinical Social Work program. I have been working in the mental health field for the past 9 years and I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations in the field. I have a lot of experiencing working with youth and people who struggle with managing anxiety, depression, stress, family challenges, trauma, and substance use. I have had the opportunity to work with people in different settings like inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, community based treatment, schools , non-profit agencies, and occupational social work. I have had the opportunity to provide individual and group therapy, case management, consultations, and supervision to a diverse populations. I generally practice from the cognitive behavioral and humanistic perspective to help people to evaluate their feelings and their circumstances in relation to the world around them and to help reconstruct their thinking in relation to their challenges and past trauma. Through the humanistic approach, I am able to view the whole person as an individual in relation to their problems and focus on their strengths or positive traits to help empower them to create change in their lives. I also provide solution-focused therapy to help people to strategize how to reach their goals and manage life's challenges in a health manner. I also implement the reality therapy approach that focuses on actively listening to clients and providing helpful feedback to help clients evaluate their emotions and to work towards realistic goals and behavioral changes. At times it takes a lot of courage to reach out and ask for help. I commend you for taking the first step to make a change. I look forward to working with you.

Hi there, I'm Terri. I am so proud of you! Welcome to starting your healing journey. You have made an important choice for yourself—starting the process of exploring what brings you distress and wanting relief. Together, we will have a private space to wonder out loud and make connections between your past, present and important relationships. If this is your first time in therapy, then this beginning may bring up a lot of questions and anxiety. You may have heard or read myths about counseling that are out there: “It means something is wrong with you,” or, “Just don’t think about (insert problem here) and you’ll be fine.” Know that nothing is ‘wrong with you’ and not addressing the problem usually only makes it bigger in the long run. We all benefit from having someone to share our feelings with and help us make sense of the stresses that we face. That’s why I’m here! Do you feel you need to have control of every aspect of your life? Are you always thinking about the future and ‘What’s next’ on your never-ending to-do list? Do you feel alone, isolated, or withdrawn? Have you noticed that you’re increasingly irritable, anxious, restless, and overwhelmed? No worries! We can address these concerns and more. I help people address uncomfortable topics to break generational cycles. I aim to assist those who struggle with saying ‘No’, and who often forget about their needs.
