I have been a Marriage and Family Therapist for almost 20 years. I am a US Army veteran and I enjoy exercising, reading, and traveling. In addition to having a degree in counseling, I also possess a degree in Theology from Moody Seminary and, I specialize in providing Christian counseling and Biblical counseling. My behavioral health clinical specializations include treating individuals with substance use disorders and mood disorders to include anxiety and depression. I also enjoy working with professionals who are dealing with workplace and career challenges. I also work with adolescents and young adults.

As a licensed clinical therapist and licensed substance abuse counselor, I have experience running very powerful substance abuse and co-occurring groups. Prior to that, I worked as a social worker in Flint, Michigan for many years as a therapist, caseworker and in crisis intervention. My experiences have given me such a rich experience and exposure to the many factors that contribute to our personal mental health and well-being. I've been fortunate to work with people in their homes, in the community, with their families as well as the private practice setting which have given me a much richer experience than just an of an office setting alone.

I work to help client’s identify their strengths and weaknesses, moving towards goals that they may be struggling with. I enjoy encouraging others who are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, as well as life transitions and changes. I have counseled with others for more than 20 years, in many different age groups and areas, from children to seniors and those struggling with issues surrounding life changes and transitions, chronic illness, disabilities and grief and loss. As of late, I have been working with others who are feeling anxious and depressed, isolated and fearful, as many have been struggling with since the beginning of the pandemic. I've always wanted to help people and I've always been a really social person; therapy allows me to do both and serve clients who may not have sought therapy before. Being a Black woman, I understand that people who look like me are least likely to seek therapy; this is one of the reasons I chose to become a therapist. I love interacting with clients from all different backgrounds as this widens my therapeutic practice. I received my undergraduate degree from FSU and my MSW degree from FIU.
