I am the wife of a Retired Combat Veteran and a mother to four beautiful children. I understand the complexities of being separated from your spouse for extended periods and feeling alone in the relationship and raising the children. Even the most well-prepared and successful person can find themselves wondering how things became so complicated, messy, or challenging, and feel at a loss when it comes to what to do to put the pieces back together. People have been shaped and molded by their past experiences, both good and bad. Often, people feel drawn to focus on the bad experiences, leading to pain and struggles of many kinds.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Community Counseling and a Post Masters Certificate in Counseling. I have over 20 years of experience working with a diverse population. I have enjoyed providing support to Adolescents, young adults, and families. I have experience working in a variety of settings, including school and office settings. I use an eclectic approach to providing therapeutic interventions. I believe that therapeutic interventions and techniques must be tailored to meet the individuals learning/communication style. Therapy is most beneficial when a strength-based approach is utilized. I believe that an individual’s strengths are used to help develop lagging skills. In my years of experience, I utilize techniques from a Reality Therapy approach which helps to acknowledge small increments of success (evidence based). This helps to increase competence in individuals of all ages. Therapy is individualized to help individuals develop and identify their life purpose (spirituality). Of great importance, I believe in modeling the importance of building relationships through communication. I have experience working with stress, anxiety, depression, anger management and issues around coping with transitional stages of life. I enjoys reading, spending time in nature, and learning and exploring cultures from around the world.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, therefore my role is to assist you in working towards solutions that benefit you in the best way possible. My area of focus is working with adults around stress, anxiety and depression. My highest priority as a therapist is to cultivate a space for you as a client to feel safe, supported, and unconditionally accepted. I have been doing therapy for 23 years and am very passionate and committed to supporting others on their healing journey. My clinical approach is person-centered first and foremost, while incorporating cognitive-behavioral and motivational interviewing methods to focus on your goals and motivations, and target what solutions are most effective and appropriate for you. As a licensed clinical social worker and fellow human, I know the importance of telling your story in a safe space; to feel heard, supported, seen, and to allow the courageous process of healing to take place. To grieve, express anger, fear and to celebrate your strengths and personal growth. I look forward to working with you

Welcome to the first step in finding YOUR therapist! You've taken the first step by visiting one of the numerous providers for accessible treatment, and you've stumbled upon my profile. Well, lets get started! My name is Mysia and I am a professional counselor in Maryland. I have experience working with individuals who are experiencing difficulties with implementing healthy coping skills, overcoming the highs and lows of mood disorders, and navigating life on life's terms. Sometimes, we just need someone to talk us through it and help us reflect on what is going on. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the strongest part of therapy and building trust and rapport help build the comfort and confidence to explore some pretty sensitive (and uncomfortable) topics. Together, we will explore thought and behavior patterns, coping skills, self-soothing and self-care rituals. We can build a vision of the person you are working to become, and help that person actualize. Welcome to the first step, it is now time to prepare for your journey!

Hi, my name is Jen Bowman and I have been a Social Worker since 2007. I am passionate about helping young adults and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, and grief and loss. I have worked in various settings throughout the years including foster care, out-patient mental health clinics, dialysis clinics, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. We can all feel depressed or anxious at times, but when we feel that way for a prolonged period, it may be time to consider getting support. People suffering from depression often experience symptoms such as isolation, negative self-talk, low motivation, sleep disturbance, low energy, hopelessness, helplessness, etc. When someone is suffering from anxiety, they often experience excessive worrying, agitation, irritability, restlessness, intrusive thoughts, difficulty concentrating, difficulty in social situations, panic attacks, etc. These are all things that I can help you with.

My name is Circe Dunwoody. I am a license psychotherapist. In my psychotherapy practice I help couples and individuals to overcome life difficulties by using cognitive behavior therapy. Many couples and individuals feel overwhelmed by the desire to balance the high demands from work and family life. They report feelings of emptiness and loss of drive. Some report feeling of depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. Others contemplate divorce as a solution to decrease the pressure they are internalizing. You can contact me for help if you are experiencing some of the feelings I have mentioned above, and you are ready to make changes in your life. l work with couples and individuals in a safe and confidential platform environment. In life we all need support and understanding from others. Sometimes the best solution is to seek professional help. Having emotional support is extremely helpful. Relying on friends or family members is also helpful. However, you may not want to overwhelm them with problems. The most intelligent solution is seeking professional help.
