Hello, I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Kentucky. I graduated in 2004 with a master's degree. Before putting all my college credits together and working toward a bachelor's degree I worked in fast-food, retail, and banking. As an older adult, I finally achieved my dream goal of being a counselor and since, I have worked in community mental health. I have counseled many different individuals but mostly children and their families. I worked for 10 years doing testing and evaluations for the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. Most recently, I have worked as a mental health counselor for a college university. There I have worked with young adults, adjusting to independent living and being away from home for the first time.

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Kentucky. I completed my masters degree in social work at the University of Louisville and have been in practice for 8 years. I use a client-centered therapeutic approach that incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). I have personally experienced many of life's ups and downs and can related to the problems many of my clients are experiencing.

My work involves creating a safe, supportive, non-judgmental therapeutic environment where my clients can process their experiences and explore their emotions and thoughts. I use a combination of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and personalized treatment plans to address the unique needs and goals of each individual. My focus during my psychology career has been working with people who have disabilities. I have worked in a rehabilitation hospital, nursing homes, Church based community counseling and a state rehabilitation center for persons who are blind or visually impaired. I have experience in determining the validity of testing, and in research.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I specialize in issues of adjustment, trauma, depression, anxiety, crisis, grief, child and adolescent behaviors, and sexual abuse. I also have experience with talking with individuals with mood and personality disorders, PTSD, and issues surrounding divorce. On a more personal level, I enjoy traveling and refer to myself as a coffee connoisseur. I also have two small dogs that think they run the world and like to introduce themselves from time to time in my sessions.
