As a therapist specializing in systems theory and a person-centered approach, I want to introduce myself and share how I can support family members of individuals struggling with addiction and anxiety. My name is Lainie, and I have dedicated my practice to helping families navigate complex challenges while fostering understanding, healing, and resilience. In working with families impacted by addiction, I approach therapy from a systems perspective, which means I view the family as an interconnected unit where each member's thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence and are influenced by others. Through this lens, I aim to help family members recognize and address unhealthy patterns of communication, roles, and dynamics that may be contributing to the addiction cycle. Additionally, I integrate person-centered principles into my practice, emphasizing empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuine acceptance for each family member's unique experiences and perspectives. I believe that creating a nonjudgmental and supportive space is essential for promoting open dialogue, trust, and collaboration within the family system. For family members of individuals struggling with anxiety, I use systems theory to explore how anxiety impacts the family as a whole and how family dynamics may contribute to or alleviate anxiety symptoms. By helping family members understand the interconnected nature of their experiences, we can work together to identify strengths, coping strategies, and communication skills that promote a healthier and more resilient family system. Overall, my approach combines the systemic understanding of family dynamics with the person-centered focus on individual experiences and needs. I strive to empower family members to communicate effectively, set boundaries, support each other, and navigate challenges with compassion and resilience. Together, we can create a therapeutic journey that promotes healing, growth, and positive change within the family system.

As a seasoned therapist my experience includes a wide spectrum of mental health issues. I have a network of physicians, mental health providers, and spiritual advisors whose counsel I seek to help provide the best care for my clients. It is my goal to lead clients to ask the right questions and help them find answers that will result in a positive, forward movement in the therapeutic process. My main focus is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but use other modalities when necessary to help clients achieve the change they are seeking. My practice involves, but is not exclusive to, marriage and family counseling, depression, anxiety, bipolar issues, LGBTQ issues, aging issues, workplace issues, mediation etc. I also provide faith based counseling when requested. My practice is open to all regardless of who they are or the issues for which they may be seeking guidance. My goal is to help clients move forward positively, finding coping skills that work well for them. If in the process I or the client determine I am not the right fit, my self esteem is not tied to it. I will help them find someone who may work better for helping them to achieve their goals.

What would your life be like if the things that are causing you problems weren't so much of a problem? How much better would your daily life be if the raging wildfire of debilitating emotions and thoughts inside you was reduced to a birthday candle? Whether our work together is addressing years of trauma that impacts your present day or brief, solution focused interventions for a problem that requires decisive action; we will count on years of experience and training to help us navigate the issues you face. Together, we will identify your strengths, cultivate them, and work to set you up for a life of continued success using your definition of what success looks like TO YOU. After all, it's your life and you are the expert in how to best live it. My career has been dedicated to helping others, especially those who have struggled with trauma disorder, such as PTSD. For the last three years I have specialized in working with children and teens in the Kentucky Foster Care system. Before that, I spent years working with adults, teens, and children in the outpatient clinical setting, veterans in transitional housing shelters with trauma and substance use disorders, children and adolescents in a psychiatric residential treatment setting, and as a case manager linking families to needed resources. Now, I have decided to use my skills in private practice to focus on helping my fellow Kentuckians, especially those in Appalachia, have access to high quality care that they don't have to leave home to access.

Hi, I'm Chris, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC-S) with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field helping individuals with a wide range of emotional and life issues. I use evidence-based therapeutic strategies as well as a person-centered approach to individualize your needs, abilities and means to achieve your goals. If you are A) looking for an honest ally, who can offer hope while centering on achievable goals B) In need of an empathetic ear but open to learning how to problem-solve C) wanting a better understanding of yourself, your thoughts and feelings - then we might be a good match. Wondering if telehealth is effective? You might be surprised just how so. I work with individuals who have likely been struggling for many years, sometimes have more than one identified issue and are unsure of how to change how they feel, improve their relationships or see things getting better for themselves. Typically, core issues can be identified within the first few sessions along with a plan to manage them.

Hello, I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Kentucky. I graduated in 2004 with a master's degree. Before putting all my college credits together and working toward a bachelor's degree I worked in fast-food, retail, and banking. As an older adult, I finally achieved my dream goal of being a counselor and since, I have worked in community mental health. I have counseled many different individuals but mostly children and their families. I worked for 10 years doing testing and evaluations for the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. Most recently, I have worked as a mental health counselor for a college university. There I have worked with young adults, adjusting to independent living and being away from home for the first time.
