Hello, I'm Keith.
I have been working in the counseling field for about 20 years working with children, adolescents, and adults. I understand that it can be difficult to take that first step and seek help, but by working together, I am sure we can make this a positive and helpful relationship. I have experience working with a wide range of mental health issues, and seek to provide a safe environment for individuals to explore how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors impact their quality of life, as well as the lives of those around them. I meet my clients where they are and work with them toward reaching their goals.
My experience includes working with individuals who have suffered with abuse issues, self-esteem problems, ADHD/ impulse control, school issues, anxiety and depression, anger, as well as other mental health issues. I have worked with individuals of all ages 4- 65.

I am a licensed mental health counselor with over 20 years of experience working with diverse individuals in the community, private practice, and residential substance abuse treatment. Never in a million years did I ever think providing counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups, would be the career to captivate my heart….but it is! My specialties are working with clients who may be suffering from traumatic incidents, substance abuse, various forms of anxiety (PTSD, stress disorders), depression, self-esteem, and gender identity.
Making the decision to receive any form of mental health counseling can be taxing, however, the results are often positive and rewarding. Learning to face your fears in a healthy and appropriate manner is a sign of growth and maturity. It is not an easy task. You will cry, laugh, and maybe feel a little uncomfortable at times. This is just the therapeutic process working to make you emotionally stronger.
*Please note that my preference for treatment sessions are individual and group therapy. However, I do provide a limited number of couples or family therapy sessions for special circumstances.

Hello, I am a therapist with 30+ years of experience both in NYC and in Florida. I have worked in many mental health and medical services with individuals, families, children and elders. I have always attempted to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their feelings and thoughts; gain insight into their behavior and improve their relationships, work and overall, well being. I am part of the therapeutic team (client and therapist), your team to identify the triggers you may suffer with and come to a resolution whereby you do not continue to experience pain/trauma.
I bring to the session not only my knowledge but the experience of accompanying you on your journey as you move forward in your life.

In the behavioral health field, I have worked with individuals and families who have experienced trauma and suffer from addiction, anxiety, grief, or depression. I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Techniques (CBT) such as identifying and confronting negative thoughts, guided imagery, visualization, and other coping and relaxation strategies. These techniques have been incredibly effective in managing a multitude of issues.
My focus is to support individuals in healing as they become aware of their inner strengths.
This is achieved by providing a safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. The plan will utilize cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing through a client-centered approach with the client’s needs and desired outcomes in mind. These methods are effective for people struggling with depression, stress, anxiety, anger, PTSD, self-image, and anyone seeking skills empowering you to live your best life.

We all have dealt with some type of family issue before. At times it can be hard to talk about, but sitting on it usually just makes things worse. My role in this process is to assist in delving into how these events have impacted you and how to move forward in future situations. Need to talk about trauma or issues with depression? Let's tackle this together and discover ways to overcome negative associations from the past.
I help adults struggling with symptoms of depression and family issues. I also assist with anxiety and have a trauma focused background. I primarily use the tools of compassion, mindfulness, and problem solving to offer new perspectives in dealing with instances of intergenerational trauma. In many cases, certain aspects unknowingly get repeated between parents and their children. This can be addressed through discussing your own understanding as well as opting to make changes for your future.

I am currently accepting new clients via teletherapy.
I have been practicing as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida for the past 22 years and am also a Licensed Therapist in Virginia, largely with a focus in the areas of depression, anxiety, thought disturbance, addiction, emotion regulation, relationship distress, and self-esteem. I feel many of the responses we struggle with are connected to a traumatic event (or perceived trauma) from the past. I am also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and worked in the past with individuals of various ages across the Autism Spectrum. Currently, my primary focus has been in the individual/couples/relational therapy realm.
I will encourage you to prioritize the areas you wish to address in therapy and tailor my approach on an individual basis. I believe in client autonomy so the areas that are addressed are the areas you want to address.
I draw on several treatment modalities (including, but not limited to, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy) to allow you to further develop your strengths and help you meet all of your treatment plan goals at a speed that works best for you. I also have completed training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy as well as the Developmental Model for Couples and integrate both of these approaches into my relational therapy practice.
Overall, I help you to see that managing the stressor is more important than just managing the stress as it will allow you to cope with anything that comes your way.

Greetings,
You may have read through a few profiles, and I owe you to feel the difference with mine. My name is Brahm, well, actually it is Robert Abraham Fay, my parents were hippies, so you can see where that went. Life can be difficult, and I know this first-hand. By the age of 17 I was in a homeless shelter (due to a violent alcoholic stepfather), and I had some people help me along the way. Vocational Rehabilitation helped me get a bike, and I rode to Valencia College for 2 years, was recruited to Rollins College on a grant, and attended grad-school at Troy University. I have taught upon resilience in: China, Russia, Germany, and the US.
Here's what's up, of course life is difficult, and the more we run from it the more we suffer. All those years in homeless shelters taught me how to ask for help when necessary. I am a licensed clinician; perhaps trapped in a case manager's body. Counselors can provide a flashlight on all of the nooks & crannies of the past, but as your case manager, we are looking at a spotlight on your future. I will never ask, "How does that make you feel?" Dumb question. I avoid the word "why," too judgemental. "Should, would, and could" are toxic verbiage as well.
My job is to get fired. Plain and simple. People only need me like training wheels. The answers being sought are already inside, hence the flashlight. What stokes my professional fire is on the outside, where the version of YOU2.0 shines through. If you are a member of a marginalized population, including all of my LGBTAQLatin+ Non-Binary, Sis, Pan, Poly & Unlabeled family, I see you and I love you. Incels & Toxic Masculinity folk are welcome on my roster; alas, only if they believe they can recover in a safe place, as my door is always open to individual improvement.
Let's find your voice, and then you can fire me! YAY!!! (confetti) That's the thrust of my existence, when I text you -- and you say, "Thank you for everything, Brahm, I think I've got this now." See? That's what's up.

Thank you for stopping by and congratulations on taking the first step in entering therapy!
I find passion in helping clients overcome the stigmas associated with counseling. I particularly find passion in working with males to help them know it is okay to ask for help! Toxic masculinity is real and it impacts how one treats himself and others around him.
Our world has the potential to create a lot of stress and havoc. Maybe you're worried about situations you're unable to control and it stops you from going to sleep at night. Could you be feeling gloomy and as a result, you're not taking care of yourself physically and emotionally? As a result of how things have been going are you drinking more than you normally do or using drugs more than you feel you should be? Recent struggles with your sexuality could be causing strain on your relationship with yourself and others and do you find yourself wanting to be more affirming of who you are as a person? Maybe some and/or any combination of these factors has left you feeling lost and/or traumatized and lost as an individual and you are seeking ways to help yourself.
If this sounds like anything you're struggling with, let's schedule a session together! If you're on the fence about entering counseling and/or if we would be a good fit, let's schedule a free, 15-minute consultation to help you answer those questions.
