I have a fairly diverse background in work and education including 20 years in the business arena in retail and financial services. In 2000 I went back to grad school again and moved into higher education teaching and the mental health field. I have worked specifically in substance use disorder in both residential and out patient facilities and I am knowledgable about most substances both licit and illicit that often get abused. My MA in psychology was focused on Binge Eating Disorder which I struggled with in childhood and began self-medicating with cannabis by the time I was 14 years old. I found pills in my late teens and crystal meth in my early 20's which brought me to my knees by my mid 20's. I met my first psychotherapist at 25 and she turned my life around, that was when I made up my mind what my life goal would be.

I am a licensed clinical social worker and certified psychanalyst with certified CBT training as well and a Ph.D in an allied field. I had taught at UCLA, USC, and Antioch Universities and I was asked to try to give and develop a college program at the California Institution for Women, at the time, the only facility for female felons in the state. Shortly, I realized I needed clinical training and went back to school specializing in children and families. Later I moved to NYC to attend The Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, an affiliate of New York University. I did one training for adults (5 years) and 3 of the 4 years for the child and adolescent track. I have worked in clinics as well as private practice in both New York and CT. I am Certified in Domestic violence and Sexual Assault, with a significant history working with victims/perpetrators; prior Certifications in Sex/Pornography Addiction, as well as Sex Offender Treatment. I am trained, and hold prior certification in Child Forensic Interviewing; and prior work with law enforcement conducting forensic interviews of potential child abuse victims.
