Hello and welcome, I’m Courtney. Have you been to other supposed “LGBT friendly” therapists and felt like they could not relate? Are you stuck in a perpetual cycle of depression and anxiety? Or maybe you are using drugs and/or alcohol to cope with life’s many stressors? Whatever the reason, I’m here to help. You may be asking, “is therapy right for me?” Absolutely! Therapy is a great self-care tool. Together we can challenge negative thinking patterns in order to help you respond in a more effective manner and increase your life satisfaction. I also strive to provide an affirming therapeutic approach, which means I respect and regard all sexualities and genders positively and provide an affirming space for all my clients. Whether you’re dealing with depression, anxiety, addiction, stress management, sexual/gender identity issues, I’m here to help. Seeking therapy for the first time can feel overwhelming, but I can assure you that you’ve made a step in the right direction. In our sessions together, I will provide accepting, compassionate & cutting-edge evidence-based treatment & meet you where you are at to assist you with achieving lasting change. Let’s work on a plan to help you get the healing you deserve.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, you can expect to for us to get to know one another and begin to build rapport and trust. We will also review your completed intake paperwork that you will complete prior to your initial session. We will discuss what's bringing into therapy, history, and goals you'd like to accomplish while in therapy. Think of your first session as going to the PCP for your annual physical. Lastly, we will review frequency of therapy sessions and decide together on a good frequency for your sessions. I look forward to meeting you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I began my journey into the counseling field by obtaining a BA in Psychology & a Master's degree in Counseling. I have provided therapy to adults, children & adolescents since 2003. I've worked in governmental agencies, community mental health, nonprofits, corporate settings, & private practice. My areas of expertise include: Teletherapy, LGBTQI+ resiliency, sexual/gender identity issues, substance use issues, racial and cultural identity, depression & anxiety, and religious & spiritual abuse.
