Hello. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) with 33 years of mental health counseling experience. In 1991, I earned a Master of Social Service Administration (MSSA) Degree from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio. https://case.edu/social work/ . Prior to my counseling work, I facilitated fund-raisers for non-profit charities in Cleveland, Ohio; and I was a very active volunteer in the Cleveland area. I am very proud of my affiliation with the Mandel School. It is home to 9 research and training centers, including 3 Centers of Excellence. I consider the school to be one of the best graduate social work schools in the United States. My professors were trained at Harvard, Smith, and the University of Washington. I provide therapy for teenagers, young adults, middle-aged adults, and older adults. I provide addiction recovery counseling, individual counseling, couples counseling, and marital counseling.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The intake will be completed in the first session which will include your personal goals for treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths as a therapist are positivity, trauma treatment, and an extensive knowledge base. I assist individuals in adopting and learning strategies to promote health and wellness while reducing substance use, depression, anxiety, panic, etc. Mindful exercise is an important component of improving mental health and well-being. Many people benefit from working with a therapist after a significant change in family status, health status, job status, relationship status, educational status, etc. It is important to consider both mind and body when improving one's life.

My treatment methods

Polyvagal Therapy

Stress is stored at the cellular level in the body. I use self-compassion therapy, safe and sound protocol, CBT, and positive psychology to design interventions based upon presenting symptoms and the willingness of the client to learn new strategies and coping skills.
