I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 35 years of experience. My expertise is with personal clients and with couples resolving any issues or problems that are standing in the way of you having a fulfilling and peaceful existence either with yourself and/or with others. It is my goal in therapy that you find a way through whatever difficulty is standing in your way of being fulfilled and at peace.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First session will be with this clinician getting to know you and you getting to know me. What brought you here? Why are you seeking help? How can I help? And some background on how you got to a place where you are seeking therapy. Any questions or concerns on if I best fit your needs? If wanting to continue, I will give you an outline on how we move forward. This is a collaborative relationship.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is my extensive work history and experience. My disposition and outlook is strength-based and positive. Yet also have a capacity to tell hard truths if they need to be faced. Whatever the difficulty I have most probably worked with another who has been through the difficulty. I have strategies for getting through these sometimes trying times. Together we will map out a path.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a common modality for therapy, where the sessions are client-centered with skills used to self-reflect and explore how mental health issues may be impeding growth.

Couples Counseling

Using CBT and other modalities to explore communication and problem areas that effect issues that are impeding growth as a couple or as individuals.

Strength-Based

Accentuating what is working in your relationships in work and personal life. Seeking to boost the strengths you already have and may not be using. And to see what is blocking you from moving forward.

Child Parent Psychotherapy

History of working with adolescents and parents in finding ways through conflict and seeking solutions to historically difficult times in adolescence. Using individual and family therapy to resolve conflicts and find solutions.

Psychodynamic

Using tools from a psychodynamic perspective, reflect and contemplate how changing personal perspectives can benefit more fulfilling relationships. Creating less conflict and more peace.
