My name is Bethany Gravely. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2018. I continue to feel the same passion for my job now as I did when I first started. I am so proud of you for taking the first step to talk about your mental health. Choosing the right therapist can be a rewarding experience, but also scary. It is my job to help you navigate the stressors of life and explore different ways for you to cope with them. We all experience stress on some level so your feelings are valid and worth discussing with someone who truly cares! My style of counseling allows for you to be in charge of your therapy. If you want helpful reading material, evidenced based practices, solutions or just a listening ear, my goal is to help you with where you are today. You are not a burden. You are not undeserving. You are not broken, or a mess to be cleaned up. You are so endlessly enough. When I’m not working, I am spending time with my husband, our two little ones, our 3 dogs, and our cat. We just recently bought a 40 acre farm and spend our free time making it our forever home! We are hopeful to bring in larger farm animals in the upcoming years and learn to homestead!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will have our brief introductions and then dive in to what specific challenges you are facing. I always ask people, “what brings you to me?” And allow you the floor to express all of your concerns!

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) primarily, but I feel that all of the common terminology used to describe therapy techniques are over complicated and sound really pretty, but our focus will be on helping you to challenge irrational beliefs or to change your thought patterns to help you address your stressors. I like the use of handouts and worksheets, but I often suggest a variety of reading materials and little homework assignments to help you work on these techniques we discuss in therapy outside of the therapy setting.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I want you to feel heard and validated. Sometimes just having an empathetic ear makes the biggest difference when you are going through a rough patch in life. I care about you and what is going on whether it seems like a big problem that feels impossible to overcome or if it is as small as your dog does not like the 5th brand of food you bought him. No issue is too small!
