Hello! My name is Monique. Are you currently experiencing challenges in your life? We all have them, and some we are faced with can feel pretty big, and we don't have to face them alone. When these challenges prevent you from functioning in important areas of your life, and leave you feeling as life is just passing you by, reaching out for help is one of the most courageous things you can do. I work with people on developing coping skills, insight, provide guidance and encouragement to get where they want to be. I want clients to feel empowered to make changes in their lives. I am guided a variety of approaches including CBT, Person Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic, Trauma Informed. Much of my experience is working with adolescents, families, and individuals, who experience everything from relationship issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress, to name a few. I have worked in Outpatient community settings, schools, homes, and telehealth.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

After our first session together, I hope that you walk away with a sense of hope, and understanding that you already took a major step towards improved well-being. In our follow up sessions, I will continue to learn more about you, what you want to get out of therapy, and how we can work together towards achieving your goals.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Some of the treatment methods I will use in therapy include CBT, which focuses on how our thoughts affect how we feel and behave. The goal is for the client to recognize their negative thought patterns, assess their accurateness, and alter those negative thoughts patterns with healthier, more balanced thought patterns. I also draw upon other approaches including person-centered therapy, taking on a non-judgmental stance, offering acceptance, empathy and guidance as you work towards personal growth and positive change. I also take on a trauma informed approach in therapy, a lens by which I take into account the impact of trauma on emotions, regulation, and behavior.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Some of my strengths are connecting with my client's, empathizing with them, working and collaborating together towards their goal.
