Call me Ben! I've been in private practice for 5 years and the mental health field at-large for close to a decade. I'm a big advocate for mindfulness (and ACT) and how it can be used alongside and incorporated into the therapeutic relationship to make tremendous strides in addressing one's mental health. I live in Asheville, North Carolina with my wife and our two cats. I love to go hiking and kayaking, am currently learning Spanish and the drums, and love a good gaming session with my friends.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I'll give you the floor to tell me all about you and what you are facing. I'll follow-up with some questions and you're welcome to ask me any questions of your own. Time allowing, I'll introduce you to my therapeutic process and we'll discuss goals, your individualized treatment plan, and how often we'll meet. I'll also provide you with some resources and materials for after our session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Over the last 5 years, I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the privilege to collaborate with hundreds of clients and get to know them as we work together toward their goals. I bring my true self to sessions and try my hardest to facilitate the same for you; we carry so many masks with us every day and if you feel safe doing so, leaving yours at the door will give you the opportunity to see your life clearly.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I primarily use ACT to treat a wide variety of mental health issues and life problems. I've been using the approach since 2019 and have found it to be tremendously helpful in my work with clients and in application to my own troubles. It is a skills-based approach that I expect clients to practice regularly between sessions.
