What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Therapy can help you work through trauma, understand yourself better, and organize your thoughts. It can help you overcome trauma, grief, and loss of many kinds. You can build better relationships with partners, peers, and children. You can learn to love yourself and find inner peace. You can learn new skills to make your life better and easier. You can find skills to manage your anxiety.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I adapt to your needs rather than fitting you into a program. I am flexible and willing to change what we are doing if we are not reaching your goals or meeting your therapy needs. I have experience with clients with severe difficulties.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

I have studied humanistic and psychodynamic therapy for many years and integrate other treatment methods into the basic framework of listening and understanding the person or the family.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

Many people want to learn skills for managing different situations. DBT is similar to CBT in teaching skills and I use both DBT skills, including mindfulness, and CBT skills when needed by the client.

Family Therapy

I was trained on Family Systems therapy to work with the family or the couple to see how behavior of one impacts the behavior of the others in the system. When one person changes behavior, others change also. Sometimes if the system is not addressed someone else takes the role, or in couples they just switch roles.

Group Therapy

Group therapy allows for people to learn from others and can be very helpful. When integrating DBT skills people learn not only useful skills but how to apply them and how others also struggle and have to learn to change their behaviors.
