Have you spent much time thinking about different ways to find contentment? I have always felt that life was intended to be filled with enjoyable, memorable moments, where we live our life with a sense of ease, filled with good health, and amazing, safe relationships. However, as a participant of life, we all know that this can be a challenge to accomplish at times! We are often stressed or anxious about meeting our goals and/or the expectations of others. We have complicated relationships with our partners, families, and friends. We want to live life a certain way but are often faced with roadblocks that prevent us from doing so. Sometimes these things are simple fixes. Sometimes they are complicated journeys that seem to take us further away from our goals and who we want to be. This has led me to a lifelong goal of finding flexible contentment. I strive to help people find ways to maintain a sense of contentment while trying to resolve challenging situations in their lives. I try to help people tap into their strengths in order to help them recognize that they may have the personal ability to turn things around and work towards meeting their goals. I look forward to working together to help you move towards living the life you want to live and accomplishing the goals you have set for yourself!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will complete some intake formalities and engage in discussions so that I can best understand what brought you to therapy. We will discuss the goals and outcomes that you would like to achieve. For ongoing sessions, we will begin working on steps to accomplish these goals. These steps will include conversation, challenging difficult thoughts, exploring how you got where you are, and determining what is important to you for finding contentment with your life and situations. I also like to refer you to worksheets and/or websites that may also help support your goals and help you stay focused/engaged during the time between our sessions.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

The treatment methods and tools that I utilize often involve helping you to find and utilize skills that focus on the strengths you already have, while also helping you to consider new ways to view and respond to the challenges you may experiencing in your life. These are sometimes referred to as modalities and can also be referred to as Behavior Modification, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Strength-Based, and Solution Focused Therapy models.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a clinical social worker, I feel my biggest strengths include having an open mind, being flexible with goal development, and showing consistent empathy. I feel that having an open mind as a therapist is essential. People come to talk about their stressors and challenges. They want to be welcomed by someone who is not going to judge them for the various factors that exist in their situation. This goes along with being flexible with goal development and being empathetic to what a client feels is an ideal, acceptable goal that works for them and meets their needs without unnecessary judgment or opinions. My goal is for clients to feel at ease and understood during our sessions as this will open up the lines of communication and ideally result in great outcomes!

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am particularly focused on helping women 30 and older. I find that around this age, women tend to start to lose their identity as an individual outside of the role they play in their family. They may question the path their life is taking and struggle with contentment as they approach the middle and later years of their life span.
