Hello! My name is John Craig. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I aim to offer you a safe and secure setting with the resources that can help you work through and overcome mental health problems. While I specialize in PTSD and Trauma, I also work with adults helping them overcome depression, anxiety, panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders and other psychological problems that interfere with living a happier and more fulfilling life. My counseling approach is warm, nonjudgmental, client-centered and empathetic. I employ a range of science-based treatment methods. If you feel you are ready for a change, please contact me for an initial consultation to help determine if we are a good fit and to establish an initial therapy session. I look forward to hearing from you soon. I John Craig, LCSW

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

We'll start with brief introductions and overview of your life history and what brings you to therapy, and providing you with an idea of what to expect in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

The mainstay of my therapy involves a person-centered, Rogerian approach using effective techniques, such as Motivational Interviewing, that have a foundation proven to be effective and efficient in working with a wide variety of mental health problems. I have special training and skills in dealing with trauma victims and a method of psychotherapy called Cognitive Processing Therapy.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I specialize in working with those suffering from the consequences of childhood trauma to help them overcome the past and renew their lives without the anxiety and hypervigilance that trauma can induce.
