Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Supervisor (LPCC-S) based in Kentucky. I received my Master's Degree at Easter Ky. University and have been practicing for 9 years. I help adults struggling with various issues such as anxiety, panic, addiction, trauma, women’s issues, relationships, family issues, and those folks who just have an overall sense of not feeling well.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. Most importantly, we’ll get to know each other a little bit better to see if our therapeutic relationship has promise according to the client’s standards, see if we are a good fit basically.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in mental health for 9 years, as well as overcoming challenges of my own, I feel as though I have gained a helpful knowledge base. I am very laid back as well as focused, positive feedback and praise are important for me as well as to give to you.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

One of my favorite treatment methods. I will challenge thoughts which appear to be unhelpful and assist clients with reframing them into more helpful ones. This treatment method is imperative, in many cases of suffering. There are times in which we are unable to make changes to events and surroundings, but we can always change the way we think about them.

Motivational Interviewing

This is another favorite method of treatment. The process of therapy can be challenging at times. There may be aspects of challenges which are not be as obvious to folks. With some gentle questioning, clients can answer some conundrums they are having and, most importantly, identify self challenges. A Key aspect of therapy is to increase self-awareness. The more we know about ourselves, the more we can make those changes we are seeking and accomplish meaningful goals.

Psychodynamic

As a trauma therapist, I have recognized that very often, issues stem from past selves. Some folks choose to explore their experiences of past selves/thoughts/feelings and how they connect with current behavior. Depending on where a person is, we may explore this after a base of coping methods are established, implemented, and one chooses to explore this element of their lives.

Trauma Informed Care

I always assume there is something in a client's life that has been a contributing factor toward symptoms. Once coping methods are established, a person might choose to dive into a traumatic history. Care and consideration are utilized in this process. Often times, folks feel that talking about their traumas are going to be helpful, but there are also many times in which it isn’t as helpful as we thought. Gentle guidance with this process is warranted.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is a staple of my therapy style. Knowledge is power. I will always provide some element of psychoeducation during a client's therapeutic session.
