I am an LISW-S based in Ohio, bringing over 4 years of experience to my practice. I earned my master in social work from The Ohio State University, and I am deeply committed to supporting individuals on their unique journeys. I specialize in working with neurodivergence, LGBTQ+ issues, women's concerns, and young adults, my goal is to create a safe and affirming space where individuals can explore their experiences and embrace their true identities. I am dedicated to helping you realize your full potential, empowering you to lead a more balanced, fulfilling life, free from the constraints of anxiety, trauma, or societal pressures.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

It's perfectly normal to feel nervous before your first therapy session. My aim for our initial meeting is to put your mind at ease. In this session, we'll have the opportunity to get to know each other better. I'll listen to your needs, understand your situation, and discuss your goals. I will also help you understand the nature of confidentiality within a therapeutic relationship, so that we can begin to establish trust and help you to feel safe.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am an out-of-the-box thinker, which allows me to connect with individuals who may not fit into traditional molds. I am also able to draw from my own experience to understand the complexities of various physical and mental health struggles. This unique perspective fosters open-mindedness and empathy, making it easier for clients to share their diverse experiences without judgment. Additionally, I appreciate the intricate connection between the mind and body, and I recognize that they impact each other in subtle ways that others might not notice.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I understand the importance of providing a welcoming and affirming environment where individuals can freely express themselves. Person-centered therapy, at its core, is about *you.* It is based on the three pillars of warmth, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard, respecting your individuality, identity, and experiences. My aim is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions while knowing that you will be accepted. The purpose of person-centered therapy is to offer an environment where you feel safe and seen, allowing you to grow towards and achieve your full potential. Together, we'll discover your innate strengths and empower you to navigate life's challenges with confidence.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based therapy that treats emotional and behavioral dysregulation by equipping clients with self-regulation skills. These skills fall into four categories: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I offer DBT-informed therapy and individual skills training, which may not fully adhere to the traditional group therapy model. This tailored approach remains highly effective for many clients and provides valuable support for individuals seeking to improve their emotional well-being and interpersonal skills.

Gender-affirming therapy

Gender-affirming therapy is a specialized form of counseling that focuses on providing support, validation, and empowerment to individuals exploring their gender identity or seeking to align their gender expression with their true self. In my practice, I am LGBTQ-affirming and dedicated to creating a safe, affirming, and supportive space for individuals on their gender journey. I have also provided letters to support clients on their gender transitions, further assisting them on their path to self-authenticity and well-being.

Feminist

Feminist therapy is a holistic and empowering approach that centers on clients' experiences, empowerment, and social justice. It emphasizes the importance of equality, self-determination, and recognizing the impact of sociocultural factors on mental health. I place a strong emphasis on validating how intersectional identities and systems can lead to trauma, confusion, grief, and barriers to accomplishing personal goals. As I particularly enjoy working with women and LGBTQ+ folks, I recognize how these identities intersect with oppressive systems. With a feminist perspective, I work collaboratively with clients to address the intersections of identity and power dynamics.
