Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Connecticut and Oregon. I received my Masters in Social Work from Syracuse University in 2007. I have been working in the behavioral health field since that time, with over 15 years of experience. I have worked with a wide variety of individuals, all with unique challenges and issues. I have successfully helped hundreds of adults to feel better by improving their mood, feeling less anxious and stress, to identify and learn strategies for overcoming barriers, and to build confidence and utilize their own strengths to take steps forward and achieve their goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, further explore you and the challenges you are struggling with, and begin to identify a plan for how we can work together to help you start to feel better. This will help me create a tailored plan for follow up sessions, where we will reflect on your progress, continue to process your thoughts and feelings, and identify coping tools and strategies that are helpful to you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am incredibly well rounded, having worked with people from all walks of life and with many different challenges over the last 16 years. I have a broad set of knowledge and tools that I tailor to you and your unique challenges and strengths. I am very empathetic and compassionate, and am a genuine person. Many of my clients have told me that they felt comfortable with me and supported by me from the first few minutes of our initial call.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT extensively with clients, and it can be so helpful with depression and anxiety in terms of learning to reframe negative thoughts, and increase behaviors that improve mood.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT has some helpful tools we can use to help improve hope, and decrease negative thoughts.

Compassion Focused

I love teaching my clients self compassion. Practicing self compassion to help to decrease negative thoughts and feelings about ourselves. (Negative thoughts tend to fuel more depression and anxiety, and all kinds of feelings like guilt and shame that keep us stuck and not feeling well)

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is a practice that is so incredibly helpful in reducing depressive and anxiety symptoms, reducing stress, and helping us to feel more grounded when things are feeling overwhelming.

Strength-Based

Focusing on your strengths is so important. Each individual has their own unique strengths that can be helpful to harness in helping you to feel better, continue to grow, and to reach your goals.
