Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas .I began my counseling career working in addiction recovery for a residential treatment center. During my time there, I began working in private practice working with individuals, focusing on trauma recovery. I have 8 years of experience. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma and PTSD through a variety of evidenced based methods. I have recently begun studying ADHD and autism and have worked with multiple adults with late in life diagnosis to understand how this has impacted their current life stressors. I am able to utilize a faith-based approach upon request.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first sessions, we will focus on what brings you to therapy. I will be focusing on getting to know you and your story. In the first session, we will discuss what you would like to get from therapy and discuss how I think I may be able to assist you in reaching your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of the most difficult things to do in life can be making the decision to reach out and ask for help. I understand this, and strive to create an environment in which my clients feel safe and supported. My clients would describe me as gentle, nurturing, and easy to talk to, but would also say that I am able to challenge them when needed. My goal is assist you in learning to cope with current stressors and assist in processing past hurts that contribute to current struggles when needed.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I completed my Masters in Counseling at a Christian College. I am able to utilized a Biblical perspective upon request, to assist clients in addressing their struggles. I work with clients to incorporate their faith and utilize scripture as it applies to the situation. I do not apply my personal beliefs to any counseling session and this method is only used upon request.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have been using DBT skills throughout my career to help clients learn how to manage anxiety, depression, and difficult emotions. It has been my experience that DBT skills are beneficial for most people. I do not use DBT in the traditional sense, however, I have a studied the skills and been teaching them in groups and individual counseling sessions for over 8 years.

Trauma Informed Care

I have spent the majority of my post graduate continuing education training focusing on trauma treatment. I have been trained in EMDR and have completed some additional trauma certification programs that have helped me to gain understanding of the impact that trauma has on the brain and body. This enables me to assist clients in addressing trauma from a whole body approach. I work to address limiting beliefs, help clients connect brain to body, and learn to regulate their nervous system through an integrated trauma informed approach.
