Once you've decided to ask for professional help, you need to find a therapist that feels right for you. I offer a holistic and intuitive focus to my work with adult individuals and couples of all ages, providing a warm and professional space for you to work through your current challenges. Every person has their own unique set of strengths and weaknesses and my commitment is to help you find your own unique truth. Whether you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging time in your life, or whether you feel the need to move forward in a new direction, my goal is to help you uncover your potential and to grow into a life that is authentically yours. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience counseling in a number of oncology, emergency and hospice medical settings, while providing psychotherapy to adults and couples of all ages in private practice. I have a particular interest in holistic mind-body medicine with a focus on exploring emotional and mental approaches to Wellness in an individualized, common-sense and accessible way. I am a long-time yoga practitioner and discovered mindfulness meditation while completing a 200-hour yoga teacher training program in 2013. Since then, I helped to establish and continue to facilitate, a Mindfulness wellness program for medical professionals, including CEU programs and workshops for nurses and social workers and monthly lectures for University of South Florida Internal Medicine residents and medical students. I also continue to lecture on mindfulness and emotional well-being for cancer survivorship community events and workshops. I particularly welcome clients who have had prior experience in counseling or have a history of exploring other avenues of personal growth. I also welcome health care professionals experiencing empathy fatigue and burnout. I look forward to helping you with the next leg of your personal journey!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My goal as a therapist is to provide a meaningful connection to help you increase your self-awareness and personal autonomy in the world around you. This starts by helping you to broaden and clarify your awareness of the difficulties you are having as we clarify the goals that you choose to set. We will then collaborate to identify the emotional and mental tools that feel the most natural and usable to empower you in achieving your goals. There are many paths to resolving one’s personal issues and I will support you on the unique path that you chose.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Please note that I am only able to schedule appointments on the hour (i.e. 3:00), and cannot accommodate appointments on the half hour (i.e. 3:30). Thank you for your understanding as we work to improve the scheduling platform. I approach clients with an integrative therapeutic approach that focuses on personal exploration and increasing self-awareness. I utilize elements of psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness based therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths is the extensive experience I offer from a long history of working with a diverse range of people who have come to me with a wide range of personal issues. Coupled with this experience is my strong intuitive approach to counseling that has helped my clients feel that they are making progress from their first therapeutic visit.
