Are you anxious, depressed, or struggling in your relationships? Are you feeling fed up or on edge? Many people experience these issues and you are not alone! Are you ready to find relief, relaxation and make connections? Together, we can work on bringing back that best version of you. I know how hard it can be to feel connected to people, especially after the world essentially shut down and is starting to open back up again. I strive to provide a safe space to support you in overcoming your struggles. I have worked with young adults to those late in adulthood struggling with substance use, anxiety, depression, trauma and adjustment issues. I engage in ongoing education to learn and improve my current skill set. My primary therapeutic approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Person Centered Therapy. I have been practicing in the field of Social Work for over twelve years. I obtained my Masters of Social Work from East Carolina University with a concentration in Substance Use Disorders. My goal in a therapy session is to meet you where you are, to focus on the here and now to be positive and empathetic.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, clients can expect a 60 minute "fact finding" session in which we will discuss what you are looking for in therapy, what you would like to work on/work through and developing a treatment plan. Treatment plans are living breathing documents that can and will change throughout our time together. For all sessions, clients can expect to find a safe, open and honest environment in which to not be judged and have a positive experience. You can expect to be challenged in a therapeutic way and to be supported in the way that you need.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Through Motivational Interviewing, I focus on Person Centered Therapy as well as Solution-Focused Therapy. However, I believe that each person is different and therapy is not a one-size fits all approach. My goal is to meet you where you are, so if that means you need to sit and vent for a session, I will be your sounding board, but do expect to be challenged at times.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel that my biggest strengths as a therapist are the ability to listen without judgement, meet a person where they are, being empathetic- not sympathetic, and challenging others to see their true self. I empower my clients to be confident and the best version of themselves
