Hi! I am a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania. I received my graduate degree from Lincoln University of PA and my undergraduate degree at Saint Joseph's University. I've spent most of my career working with older adolescents and their families. Over the last 4 years, I have branched out to adults and couples. My hope for this work is to assist others in acceptance. Inviting individuals to accept their feelings with the intention to address them and move towards an inner harmony. To define peace of mind. Once acceptance takes place navigate in a manner that brings you fulfillment and optimum functionality.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will start with an extended introduction. I will share more about my career experience and answer any questions that come up. We will then discuss your therapy history as well as concern that brought you to this session. In addition, we will create expectations for our therapeutic relationship. I want to make sure that I am communicating in a fashion that is productive and meets your needs. Additionally, affordability is important to me. We will talk about your desired length of support and the best plan of care.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with a wide range of individuals, I believe my cultural and intellectual curiosity is a strength. It is very important that I eliminate any bias, embrace your culture and values as we work through your presenting concerns. Additionally, I've spent many years working with families impacted by trauma. I have a trauma informed approach that incorporates accountability and radical hospitality. Lastly, I work hard to stay informed and educated on therapeutic modalities and nuances.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is based on the idea that how we think (cognition), how we feel (emotion) and how we act (behavior) all interact together. Specifically, our thoughts determine our feelings and our behavior. CBT is often used for brief solution focused therapy. CBT will be used to develop strategies, identify triggers and further understand the motivations behind your behaviors. We will complete activities to help familiarize you with strategies that can be use as needed. Additionally, understanding your varying perspectives due to present state of mind. My hope is that we will retrain your brain to use healthy coping and regulation strategies through heightened awareness of you.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) teaches mindfulness skills to help individuals live and behave in ways consistent with personal values while developing psychological flexibility. Our goal is to set intention and align our actions and behaviors with intention. I have used ACT therapy to assist indviduals seeking forgiveness and looking to change unhealthy habits.

Couples Counseling

Short term therapy that builds communication skills to address issues like finances, roles in the relationship, values and beliefs, intimacy and communication. I have provided couple's therapy for the last 2 years. What I've learned is that communication is the root of most problems. We will discuss the values and principles that guide your unique partnership. Discuss underlying concerns that may precede the relationship and current expectations as a result. We will also discuss big T and small T traumas and it's potential to impact how we trust and express love. This work is hard but necessary. Couples therapy is an invitation to express your feelings with the hope to be understood.

Group Therapy

Provide group therapy to address grief, life coaching and career exploration and creative cooking therapy. I have provided group therapy for adolescents, couples and Indviduals for over 7 years.
