I believe strength resides in all of us. I can and will be at times very blunt and to the point, but I do know that this is your life being discussed not mine. I have an inclusive feminist background and am comfortable working with all genders. I believe that laughter is the best medicine and that everyone is capable of living the best life possible. I live in a multi dog/cat/parrot household and odds are good you will not just hear them but may occasionally see them. No worries they don’t judge and have been sworn to HIPAA secrecy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will get to know each other see if we are a good fit and we will then work on a plan of care what do you want to work on? What do you want from me as a therapist? Visits, schedules and so on.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths are that I know when to push, when to back off, and when its best to use my great sense of humor. Ive worked with a great variety of people, and am open and eager to learn more about my fellow humans.

My treatment methods

Narrative

I love narrative therapy, we all have stories of our lives and so do those around us. This is how we not only view ourselves but how we view the world around us. In therapy we learn to tell a different story about ourselves one that is not as harsh, filled with more self love and caring. One that we can see where we can weave a softer ending.

EMDR

As well as EMDR Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing a therapy that uses eye movements or bilateral stimulation to help reprogram the brain‘s responses to stress for trauma processing.

Psychodynamic

I use this treatment often as I believe it helps you understand yourself better its the AHA moments

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I am trained and utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy which utilizes mindfulness as it teaches new ways of thinking and being, for a better quality of life.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I am currently being trained in IFS and will be using it more and more in my practice
