What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the initial therapy session, clients can anticipate a warm and confidential space where they are encouraged to share their thoughts, feelings, and concerns openly. The session typically begins with an introduction to the therapeutic process, outlining the principles of confidentiality and establishing a trusting rapport. We will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and set goals for the sessions ahead.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Therapeutic strength lies in providing compassionate and individualized support to those facing complex struggles. With a holistic approach, we will together navigate the intersection of mental and physical well-being, offering insight, empathy, and tailored interventions to empower YOU on your journey to recovery.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have developed a particular specialization in working with deaf and hard of hearing clients, and clients with deaf or hard of hearing family members. I am trained and proficient in American Sign Language (ASL), and is passionate about providing therapeutic support to families in this population without relying on interpretation services.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Through collaborative and structured sessions, I guide clients in understanding the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, facilitating personal growth and improved overall well-being. My approach is to provide practical tools for changing unhealthy cognitive patterns and help clients develop more adaptive ways of thinking. This process empowers individuals to manage and overcome various mental health challenges, promoting lasting positive change.

Family Therapy

Family Systems Therapy views the family as an interconnected system, where each member's behaviors and emotions influence and are influenced by the others. I facilitate sessions that explore patterns of interaction, communication styles, and family roles, aiming to identify and understand underlying issues. I guide families in developing healthier ways of functioning and resolving conflicts. This collaborative approach emphasizes the importance of considering the family as a whole, ultimately fostering positive changes in the overall family system.
