I have been practicing therapy for thirteen years and have experience with survivors of domestic violence, substance abuse issues, anxiety and depression. I have an integrative approach combining cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and solution focused therapy. My hope is to join with my clients to form goals that they want to work on and we start on the journey together.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
My view of the function of counseling is as a journey of self-exploration by the client, meant to increase their level of self-understanding and self-awareness. I am not an expert on the client’s life who effortlessly dispenses advice to the client on what they should be thinking, feeling, and doing. As a therapist, I act as the guide or facilitator of this journey of self exploration.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Whether you’re struggling with domestic violence, addiction, or anxiety, it is important that you know you don’t have to be alone in this journey. I have the experience to help you achieve your goals, overcome these struggles, and live a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
