My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR has been life-changing for many of my clients. Through EMDR clients have been able to successfully retrieve memories that have been blocked for years... leading to deep healing.

Attachment-based

Research concludes that early attachment experiences with our primary caregivers shape the adults that we become later in life. Through an attachment lens, I have seen clients overcome the negative effects of their early childhood experiences and learn to develop secure relationships in the here and now.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral theory operates with the the understanding that ourt thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all connected. It empowers clients with the tools to understand their current maladaptive thinking patterns and to change them to more realistic and healthy thoughts, leading to positive change in their emotions as well as behaviors.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotion-focused therapy (EFT) helps us understand the role that emotions play in creating positive change. EFT focus on strategies that promotes the awareness, acceptance, expression, utilization, regulation, and transformation of emotion as well as corrective emotional experience with the therapist. The goals of EFT are strengthening the self, regulating affect, and creating new meaning.

Couples Counseling

In couples therapy, we aim to help couples understand their existing patterns and take steps to replace the maladaptive patterns that lead to conflict to ones that are health and establish a deeper conncetion. I apply Emotion-focused therapy (EFT) in my work with couples. EFT helps us understand the role that emotions play in creating positive change. Once a couple feels secure and emotionally connected, they are better able to handle relationship challenges and conflicts. By fostering a sense of safety and trust, EFT helps individuals develop a deeper understanding of their own emotions as well as their partner's.
