Once a previous skeptic, the quality of my personal and professional life significantly improved through therapy once I learned to trust the process and invest in myself. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a master's degree in Counselor Education. I am a US Army veteran and have worked extensively with Depression, Anxiety, Adjustment Issues, and challenging adolescent behaviors with civilian and military families.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to learn more about the onset of their issues and develop insight into various methods to accept, manage, and overcome difficulties.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My approach to therapy is to aid my clients in developing methods that allow for relief from their difficulties and grow those methods with insight and empowerment to work through challenges. With this approach, I have found great success working with adolescents and families that are working through communication issues. I work well with military veterans and their families, as well as adults, both men and women, challenged by professional and personal issues impacting their life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In a CBT session, the client and I will work together to set specific, achievable goals and develop strategies to achieve them. These strategies may include cognitive restructuring, problem-solving techniques, exposure therapy, and various behavioral experiments.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

My most preferred treatment modality is Solution Focused. SFBT emphasizes identifying and building on solutions rather than dwelling on problems. I work to encourage my clients to envision their preferred future and explore times when the problem was less severe or absent.
