Hello and welcome. My name is Raishelle and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I run a private therapy practice in California, based online. I see my clients remotely utilizing phone or video technology. I am Christian with a Christ-centered approach. I use a holistic lens in my work with a focus on connecting the mind and body. I have been working with individuals who experience symptoms related to anxiety and who have a history of relational trauma. I am here to assist individuals like you in coping when there is a readiness for change present. I understand seeking help can be a big step and possibly pretty stressful. I want to take a moment to offer praise for taking this step! You are in a safe place, and I am happy to assist you in finding what you are looking for. I would love to meet you when you are ready!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session please be prepared to share background information, history and what brings you to therapy. We will go at your pace and sharing specific details is not mandatory. We will focus on getting to know one another and planning course of treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My approach is to treat the whole individual, not just the symptoms. I believe that connecting to oneself and taking back control of the mind and body leads to major progress. I am here to help you do just that and am happy to go at your pace.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Clients who are seeking supports around stressors, anxiety & trauma. Clients who are motivated to change and engage in active treatment.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I approach my work from a Christ centered world view. I bring in whatever aspects of Christianity you are comfortable with including prayer, referencing scripture, discussing faith & spirituality.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I regularly use CBT in session with clients. We actively identify, challenge and reframe negative and distorted thoughts. These thoughts can feel like worry, anxiety or fear. They can sound mean and negative toward yourself or others. We will focus on controlling these thoughts and understanding why you have them in the first place. You might not recognize how much these thoughts impact your day to life so we might use CBT to talk about that too.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

We use DBT in order to learn to accept & change our thoughts, feelings and behaviors that may be harmful or unhelpful. DBT is so much more than acronyms. While the acronyms can be helpful in remembering specific tools & skills, the meat of DBT it learning to be present in your body and able to regulate your emotions.

Somatic

Connecting to your body is a wonderful tool in learning to manage symptoms that arise from anxiety or lived trauma experienced. We begin the practice by gently noticing cues of dysregulation that your body gives you. From there we focus on learning skills & integrating skills that support & regulate your body. This might look like breathing techniques, muscle relaxation, moving your body or grounding.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

We learn mindfulness by practicing being present and noticing when your attention is no longer with the experience your body is having. We focus on doing this without judgment and very gently.
