Hi, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Chicago. I enjoy assisting adults who are managing stress and anxiety, addiction, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, life transitions, and depression. I have a warm and direct approach. My focus is on identifying and understanding dysfunctional life patterns that are keeping you stuck. We collaborate as a team so you know how to apply what is learned in sessions to create positive change in your life. I believe in a client-centered approach, tailoring my therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs and goals of each person. Through a collaborative and empathetic process, you can expect a caring and respectful therapeutic relationship based on mutual trust and respect. I support you by creating a secure and non-judgmental space where vulnerability is considered a strength, empowerment flourishes, and goals are met so you can get your life back.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I want to get to know you. We will discuss the challenges you're dealing with in your life and together we'll start to develop goals for therapy. The first appointment is just the beginning of the therapeutic relationship. At the end of the first session and moving forward, I like to check-in for feedback to ensure that we are a good fit for one another. I want you to be comfortable, safe, heard and understood.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I consider myself to be an engaging and direct therapist as I find that shared dialogue makes us better team members in your treatment journey. I'm happy to let clients take the lead in sessions if they would like or I can provide the structure needed if you're not sure where to start. My focus is ensuring that clients are able to apply what they learn in session to their real life. Many clients have the knowledge and understanding but often ask me "how do I change this?" This is a critical point in our work together that leads to lasting change. I want to ensure clients have tangible action steps and are empowered to make changes for themselves.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use cognitive behavioral therapy frequently in sessions with clients. The relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behavior is strong. I like to take it one step further and examine clients' core beliefs which are the origin of our thoughts. Core beliefs about ourselves and the world produce sometimes distorted thoughts which then brings us to then to unregulated feelings where we tend to live in a reactive state. The cycle is finally completed when we perform a behavior as a way to "solve" our uncomfortable feelings. Together, clients will learn to turn our dysfunctional cycle into a healthy one.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

My main goal with DBT is to teach clients how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate emotions, and improve relationships with others.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use SFBT to maintain future-focused, goal-directed therapy and where the focus is on solutions, rather than on the problems that brought clients to seek therapy. It is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems.
