Hello! I'm Erin, a licensed clinical social worker located in Bucks County, PA. Have you spent a lifetime feeling the need to prove yourself, grappling with feelings of inadequacy? How does appearance and success impact your self-perception? Does perfectionism and comparison rob you of joy? Worthiness is intrinsic and does not need to be earned. Therapy can help us to accept (maybe even embrace) our imperfections and vulnerabilities, uncovering authentic pieces of ourself. Life's challenges often fracture our sense of self, leading to self-blame during tough times. Staying mired in unproductive patterns affects our well-being (what we often term 'symptoms'). I'm here to empower you, guiding towards new paths and insights, breaking free from these barriers and fostering a more fulfilling life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I will share about my practice and briefly review policies. You will have an opportunity to ask any questions you may still have. We will start an intake assessment that will ask questions about your demographics and mental health history. This usually takes one session, but can take longer if needed, I work at your pace. This will help you and I start to determine whether I am a good match for your therapeutic needs. After this we begin developing a treatment plan to understand what your goals are of attending future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My goal is to embody warmth and approachability, creating a safe environment where clients can freely share without fear of judgment. I believe in using humor thoughtfully to navigate life's complexities. Learning from my clients' wisdom is a cherished aspect of my practice, where their experiences offer new insights. As an anti-oppressive therapist, I aim to be an ally in fostering empowerment and advocating for positive change within our daily lives.

My treatment methods

Relational

Relational therapy is crucial as it examines the impact of relationships on our mental well-being. It prioritizes the understanding and improvement of interpersonal interactions for personal growth and overall wellness. This therapeutic approach combines insights from psychodynamics to uncover emotional patterns in relationships with techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to actively address negative thoughts and behaviors. The integration of these elements fosters healthier and more fulfilling relational dynamics.

Feminist

Feminist therapy considers how societal norms and gender roles affect mental health. It aims for equality, empowerment, and challenges traditional views, offering a collaborative space to explore and confront these influences. This helps individuals navigate and challenge limiting beliefs, fostering healthier and more fulfilling lives.

Mind-body approach

Mind-body approach therapy, also known as mind-body therapy, is a holistic approach that considers the connection and intricate links between mental and physical health. Embracing this connection permits a holistic approach to well-being, acknowledging the significant interplay between mental and physical health, both of which profoundly impact each other. I support my clients in learning techniques such as mindfulness, deep breathing, meditation, and progressive muscle relaxation to help heal this feedback loop.
