Hello! My name is Paul and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Florida. I received my Master’s degree from Florida Gulf Coast University and have been practicing for over five years. I have worked with clients in a variety of settings: residential rehab centers, department of corrections, hospitals, and community care centers. I help clients by providing a safe outlet to express themselves, discuss life, and set goals. Asking for help can sometimes be stigmatized and may bring about feelings of uncertainty, doubt, or shame. We will work together and show how important it is to find connection, how working together makes us stronger, and can help to strengthen one’s mental health.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will introduce ourselves and get to know one another. We will also begin exploring specific challenges you may be facing and wanting to discuss. We will discuss any questions you have about therapy and it’s process. We will begin formulating a treatment plan for our follow-up sessions and discuss what that might look like.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist for over five years, my strengths come from the experiences I’ve gained working in a multitude of mental health settings. I am experienced in managing crisis situations, identifying challenges, and helping clients achieve their goals by providing supportive accountability. Therapy is not a one size fits all. I tailor treatment plans to the individual and am knowledgeable in variety of therapeutic techniques to help clients achieve their goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

How we think influences how we feel and therefore how we behave. Increasing self-awareness of how we think is the first step on the way to improving mood. Together we will work on identifying unhelpful thinking patterns, challenging irrational thoughts, and reframing thinking to more balanced thoughts.

Motivational Interviewing

Discuss and explore the stages of change. Together we will explore goals and values while discussing the costs/benefits. The idea of change can sometimes bring about feelings of uncertainty and unease. I will work with you wherever you are in your journey to support you through this process.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

We will explore and identify strengths and inner resources. Everyone has areas in their life they are strong in. Together we will build upon these areas by finding what you are already doing that works for you and how to translate them into different areas that could use a boost.
