Hello! I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) practicing in California. I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and have been practicing for 6 years. I see adults and couples. I am interested in understanding where my clients feel they are struggling in their relationships, work or social life and helping them get unstuck.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I like to get to know you, the challenges you are experiencing and what your hopes are for therapy. And I give a you a chance to ask any questions you may have about me and our work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a therapist are that I have empathy and listen well; I ask good questions and I don't judge. I have a lot of life experience, which helps me understand the phase of life challenges my clients face. I find therapy isn't "one size fits all." I am more comfortable tailoring my approach to the client's needs, drawing on interventions from Psychodynamic, CBT, and Attachment-based therapies. I particularly enjoy working with couples. It takes courage to explore the stuck patterns we experience with our partner, but it can bring great rewards. Using techniques from Imago Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy, I have seen couples make breakthroughs.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT successfully for 6 years to help clients with anxiety and depression. CBT is invaluable in helping clients notice what situations trigger them, the automatic thoughts they have in response, and what they do behaviorally. Creating some space in this chain gives clients the opportunity to examine the validity of their thoughts and consider other ways of thinking and reacting. CBT also teaches clients to track their activities and notice what helps their mood and alleviates their anxiety. Taking CBT skills learned in session into daily life is the foundation of progress in reducing both anxiety and depression.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a powerful technique for exploring emotions more deeply, but also safely, in the therapy. EFT helps you understand the connection between your attachment experiences growing up, and how you show up in your present relationships. The goal is to help you build secure attachments.
