Hi! I am a licensed therapist in VA (LPC) and NC (LCMHC) with 6 years of clinical practice. Previously I was an academic counselor in higher education and I am an educator at heart. I strive to help you feel comfortable exploring your ways of being with no judgement, in order to find a path to a more valued life as you define it!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will get to know one another and identify the areas you feel are holding you back. We will create some goals and I will explain some of the ways we can address those goals. I strive to listen and help us get on the same page as quickly as possible. Therapy is FOR YOU, and I work hard to get in tune with your needs immediately! I will jump right in to giving you practical take-aways that you can begin to practice right away.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with soldiers and first responders as well as just busy people, I tend to be practical and help you fill your "toolbox" quickly. I am open to learning FROM you as well, as ultimately, you are the expert on YOU and many of the answers you seek are inside you already. I am hopeful you will find unconditional acceptance with me and a safe place to be yourself and explore yourself to find and start living the best version of yourself!

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have had training and practice in this modality and feels that it is effective at addressing multiple concerns. It is practical and applicable to most general practice clients.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have had training and practice in this modality and feels that it is effective at addressing multiple concerns. It is practical and applicable to most general practice clients.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is the basis for most other modalities as it helps people become more aware of themselves, their value and automatic responses that often lead to less fulfilling lives.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy

I have been trained in and successfully utilized PE for PTSD clients. It is an effective and fairly fast protocol for resolving specific traumatic events.
