Hello and welcome! My name is Erica, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. I strive to provide a warm, safe, and inviting space to help guide you through this journey of healing. Life is often overwhelming and hard, but you do not have to figure it all out on your own. I am here to help you navigate your roadmap and get you to a place of emotional wellness. Join me in a place where your healing process can begin. I am passionate about empowering others to get out of damaging behaviors and patterns that have you stuck in a cycle that you have been repeating over and over. As your therapist, my primary goal is to connect with you to help you resolve everyday issues. You are the expert on your life, and I am here to help you expand on your strengths and coping skills as well as hold you accountable for reaching your goals. I have several years of experience working with children and adults who are dealing with depression, anxiety, marital issues, family-relational issues, grief, self-esteem issues and addiction issues. I look forward to working together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

After our initial session, I hope that you feel calm, more confident and have a sense of accomplishment knowing that you have taken the first steps towards meeting your goals. I provide a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental setting allowing you room to be your authentic self. You should expect to learn coping strategies and other tools to help you with managing your behaviors, thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It is important to remember that therapy is a process and progress is not immediate. I expect to work together to develop a plan and set goals for your future success.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

My therapy style includes the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Solution-focused Therapy. I implement active listening, emotional support, and talk therapy into my session. Tools that are used are journaling, interactive activities as well as homework to include worksheets and activities to provide psychoeducation and exercises to practice implementing various tools presented while in sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are compassion and meeting the person where they are in life. I pride myself in building a positive therapeutic relationship for you to feel comfortable, to be honest with me and yourself. Empathy is a strength of mine as well. We are all going through life, and I think it is important that you know there is a non-judgmental space to work through life’s issues. I will always treat you as an equal and will strive to maintain a positive and safe environment for you to heal. I have had success working with mothers struggling to find themselves, those dealing with parenting issues, and relationship issues including family and marital. I have helped individuals manage problems related to stress, anxiety/panic, childhood and various types of trauma, issues with motivation, isolation and depression, relaxation, problems of self-esteem/self-worth, issues related to grief and loss, boundaries and problems with interpersonal communication.
