I have been working with adults for approximately 15 years. On the first visit, my job is to listen to your description of what is going on in your life. What are the stressors, what are the protective factors? Also, what are your strengths and challenges? We then collaborate on what it is that you want to change. We look at behavior/thinking,feeling patterns that may get in the way of a better quality of life. I come from a place of I'm okay and you're okay, meaning that we both have value and mutual respect.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Many clients have told me that I am an excellent listener, non-judgmental, and that they feel they can open up with me.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been utilizing CBT for years. It can be very effective in regards to decreasing anxiety and mood dysregulation. I work with clients on recognzing and challenging automatic thoughts that tend to feed anxiety and depression.

Narrative

Narrative Therapy focuses on the way individuals view themselves and their experiences. and how these stories impact thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Narrative therapy assists clients with reframing their story, creating new scripts, and living in a way that reflects one's goals and values. The client is the expert of their narrative and this can be very empowering.
