I'm a licensed mental health therapist and the CEO at Altha Mental Health Institute & Quantum Healing Regression, my practice is located in Boca Raton, Fl. I'm pursuing my PhD in Clinical Psychology working on my thesis. I'm a passionate scholar-practitioner in the field of clinical psychology who divides my time between clinical practice, training and consulting, and scholarly writing and research. My warm, open-minded, and non-judgmental style cultivates a process that is both active and challenging. I'm not just here to listen; I'm here to help you get unstuck. Together we'll explore and confront the blocks in your daily life, as well as past events that are still holding you back. Our sessions will focus on increasing your self-acceptance, authenticity, and connectedness with others. You will develop skills to reduce feelings of shame, anxiety, and hopelessness. Because no two individuals are the same, our treatment plan will be tailored to reflect your goals. My process draws on evidence-based techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as psychodynamic and Gestalt approaches.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we’ll start with brief introductions, then dive into the challenges you are facing. This will help us with looking into which treatment approaches that would best fit your needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I work from a psychodynamic framework, but use eclectic interventions and am guided by my client's unique needs. I have had success treating individuals struggling with issues related to interpersonal difficulties, identity development, creativity, trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, and grief. I have studied and worked with people who have experienced early losses and traumas in great depth. I have also had considerable experience with people who are struggling with issues around identity, anxiety, relationships, fertility and early adult development.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT can be a very helpful tool — either alone or in combination with other therapies — in treating mental health disorders, such as depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or an eating disorder. But not everyone who benefits from CBT has a mental health condition. CBT can be an effective tool to help anyone learn how to better manage stressful life situations.

Grief Therapy

Grief counseling is a type of professional therapy designed to help you work through the various stages and range of emotions you may feel after a loss. How you experience grief can vary from person to person. People commonly refer to the five familiar stages of grief, initially coined in 1969 by psychiatrist Elisabeth Kubler-Ross. Counseling will help you address some of the reactions as you process your new reality. Some people recover from grief usually within 6 months, but for some others, it may take up to a year or longer.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is an alternative medical treatment that brings a patient into a relaxed state to become more receptive to behavior changes. When the conscious mind is relaxed, the subconscious mind can better receive suggestions for behavior change or coping mechanisms. During hypnotherapy, the body and mind become relaxed with increased awareness and ability to focus. While hypnotized, the muscles relax, heart rate slows, and breathing slows. This allows the subconscious brain to be receptive to suggestions that could change bad behaviors. Hypnotherapy is the practice of bringing the conscious mind into a trance-like state in order to make the subconscious mind more receptive to suggestion. It can be used to alleviate pain, treat phobias, decrease anxiety, improve dementia or sleep disorders, and to explore past memories.

EMDR

EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to focus briefly on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms
