I have worked with children, adolescents, teens, adults, families, couples, geriatrics, and LGBTQ+. I specialize in ADHD, addiction, anger management, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, gender dysphoria, marital issues, psychosis, trauma, and many other life challenges with individualized treatment that include forms of psychodynamics, CBT, family systems therapy, faith-based approaches and more.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first few sessions, we will get acquainted, identify your current challenges and goals, as well as conduct a thorough assessment toward creating a treatment plan and strategies for desired outcomes.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a human being working with human beings from all walks of life, I believe that my greatest strength is to offer genuine care and compassion along with clinical skill and a plan as we team up to meet your needs.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In the first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, we will help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings and behaviors for the better.

Christian Counseling

For many clients, God and Jesus are the answer to many of life's issues and questions. However, in a world that has moved so far away from any sort of faith and even shuns it in conversation, Christian counseling has been helpful in assisting many in unpacking and reframing. Our approach has been to explore all aspects of a person's existence including their bodies, minds, personality, and spirituality. Christian counseling allows one to draw comfort and strength from God’s unlimited source of healing and power. From the scriptures, we use examples of human struggles to highlight God's repeated dealings with mankind and how they have been the repeated focus of the love and devotion of God and Jesus. In addition, we provide ways in which to fold in viable solution-focus strategies to assist clients with managing and eliminating unwanted thoughts and behaviors.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on mental and emotional processes that a client may not be aware of as they are manifested in the client's present behavior. The goals of psychodynamic therapy are client self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on present behavior. As this can be extremely challenging to do, our consistent approach has been to provide a safe, comfortable environment as we embark on the journey of self-discovery, assess and address issues as they arise, and assist our clients with making those needed connections that may well free them to live happier lives.
