I have a master of science in mental health counseling from Capella University. I am trained to work with individuals, groups, families and couples. I also have extensive knowledge and sensitivity in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, bipolar, difficult life transitions, parenting issues, relationship problems, LGBTQIA issues and other life challenges. My understanding of counseling comes from many different theoretical orientations. I believe that the client or clients have the solutions to their dilemmas within one’s self. Therefore the counselor does not have the “answers” to the client’s “problem” but is a facilitator of the process that helps the client take responsibility and action and come to a resolution. I am here to support and guide you on that journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will get to know each other, go through you intake information and talk about what you want to achieve in our time together.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use an eclectic approach drawing from therapies such as CBT, DBT, solution-focused, motivational interviewing, person-centered, and narrative. I don't believe that there is a one-size-fits-all when it comes to effective treatment and strive to utilize a variety of techniques to meet each client where they are currently.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths as a counselor lie in being able to draw from a variety of theoretical backgrounds and approaches to find what works for each client. I believe that each individual can make changes that can better their life experiences and relationships overall and see myself as a guide in the process of reaching those goals.
